Chapter: 4586
Having seen Dylan's portrait in Olivia's room before, the nanny was stunned to see him there with another woman.
Dylan hastily set down the woman he was carrying and rushed over to scoop up Olivia, gently patting her cheek as he called out anxiously, "Olivia! Olivia..."
Standing to the side, the nanny hesitated to speak, reconsidering her words.
Tearfully, Leyla buried her head in the nanny's comforting embrace.
When Olivia woke up, she realized it was already late into the night.
Moonlight filtered into the ward room, lending a chill to the atmosphere.
Still groggy, Olivia sat up suddenly, searching for Leyla.
"Leyla is back home, and Laura is looking after her," Edwin said gently, flicking on the bedside lamp, casting a warm orange glow.
Leaning against the bed, Olivia appeared frail, her complexion pallid.
Edwin picked up the chicken soup, intending to spoon-feed her.
"I can manage on my own," Olivia insisted.
Edwin gave her a stern look. “I am your brother, so don't argue with me! Just open your mouth and be a good girl."
Olivia acquiesced, realizing she had no other option. As Edwin fed her the soup, he casually asked, “Have you crossed paths with Dylan? He refused to reconcile with you, didn't he?"
Olivia remained silent.
Edwin continued with a faint smile, "The woman he brought to the hospital is named Gina; she spent her formative years abroad."
He paused briefly before continuing, “Dylan purchased a winery some time ago and has been actively managing the wine business. Gina serves as his assistant. As for their relationship, it's not my place to comment on it."
Olivia pondered Edwin's words in silence for a while.
As she neared the end of the bowl of soup, Olivia finally spoke up softly. "But that's not the issue at hand. What concerns me is Dylan's attitude! I used to believe I held a special place in his heart, but today I saw his affection for another woman. Despite our two-year separation, he seems to disregard the time that's passed as evidence of our love. He even suggests I spend another two years deciding between Raphael and him."
Olivia looked up at her brother and added, “If Leyla is indeed his daughter, I wouldn't be grappling with such a predicament. I could have confronted him about it. But no, I feel utterly helpless now. I'm at a loss for what to do. He doesn't actually give me any option, Edwin."
Olivia forced a bitter smile and fell silent.
She turned her head and gazed at the moonlight streaming through the window. In that moment, it appeared she had determined her next course of action.
Edwin gently caressed her head, smiling warmly. “You're a big girl now, and the decision is yours to make. For now, you need to have some rest."
With those words, Edwin tucked his sister in and then crashed on the couch.
But it was impossible for Olivia to fall asleep.
