Chapter: 4587
Every time she closed her eyes, the image of Dylan carrying the young woman haunted her thoughts. She couldn't help but wonder if he truly cared about their marriage at all at this point. At the very least, Dylan should have made an effort to explain things to her.
But he didn't.
The following morning, feeling better, Olivia was discharged, and Edwin escorted her home.
Having spent just one night in the hospital, Olivia had no belongings to gather.
Seated on the sofa, she sent a text to her lawyer, requesting the drafting of some legal documents. As she hit send, she noticed a beautiful woman standing by the door. Edwin mentioned her name was Gina, the same as Dylan's dog.
The irony wasn't lost on Olivia.
The previous day, Olivia had expressed her desire to raise the dog together with Dylan.
Olivia offered a bitter smile.
Gina's kind and innocent appearance stirred memories of Olivia's past self.
Gina refrained from entering the room, opting to stand by the door as she said softly, "I care deeply for Dylan. I'm aware of your separation. If your feelings for him have changed, may I have him? I assure you, I'll care for him dearly."
Olivia calmly set her phone aside upon hearing Gina's words.
She hadn't anticipated Gina's innocent directness, which made it difficult for her to reprimand her.
In truth, Gina had a point.
Dylan's recent proposal to live separately seemed Like a precursor to divorce. Gina's audacity probably stemmed from Dylan's evident kindness towards her, bolstering her confidence.
Olivia inquired with a faint smile, "Does Dylan share the same sentiment? And where is he now?"
At that moment, Dylan appeared at the door.
Olivia gazed at him, tears threatening to spill, but she fought to suppress them.
Turning to Gina, she spoke up softly. "I apologize, miss. This man is still my husband, and I'd appreciate a moment alone with him."
Gina turned around and was shocked by Dylan's presence.
Dylan gently patted her shoulder, urging her to return to her ward.
Gina complied and left quietly.
Once she was gone, Dylan entered Olivia's ward.
Edwin, from a distance, observed Dylan and noticed Olivia's teary eyes. Preferring not to intrude, he moved aside for a cigarette.
Edwin had delved into Gina's background and discovered that she was the daughter of an oil tycoon.
