Chapter: 4588
More importantly, she had saved Dylan's life.
Dylan calmly closed the door behind him and stated, “Gina is simply an employee. Our relationship is unaffected by her."
Olivia remained silent, her gaze fixed on him.
After a while, she approached the window where a pack of cigarettes sat, likely left by Edwin.
With trembling hands, Olivia lit a cigarette.
She took a puff, though, and being a non-smoker, it caused her to cough violently.
After a moment, she managed a faint smile, remarking, "This is my first time. Turns out, it's not as enjoyable as I thought."
Dylan's gaze remained fixed on her.
Olivia extinguished the cigarette and asked stiffly, "Does she reside in the villa too? Do you share a living arrangement? Are you guys inseparable-working together, dining together, even taking evening strolls?"
“That's enough, Olivia," Dylan interrupted with a frown.
Olivia, in the same clothes as the previous day, adjusted her suit jacket and offered a gentle smile. "You two even raise a dog together. It paints quite the picture of domestic bliss, wouldn't you say, Dylan?"
Dylan remained silent.
Olivia gazed quietly at her shoes for a while before lifting her eyes to speak.
“Remember the proposal you made the other day, Dylan? Well, I have an answer now. There's no need to prolong this for another two years. Since you've found someone, I genuinely wish you happiness. After all these years of knowing each other, there's no need for us to end up like enemies, don't you think?"
Olivia paused momentarily.
She then continued with a smile, "My lawyer is on his way, bringing the divorce papers. Once you sign them, you'll be free."
It wasn't that Olivia wasn't saddened by the situation. She still had feelings for Dylan, but she felt helpless.
What else could she possibly do?
Given Dylan's willingness to entertain the notion, Olivia felt compelled to voice it.
Dylan hadn't broached the subject of divorce, so she saw it as a favor to him.
Olivia didn't want things to end ugly or that they would have resentment towards each other for the rest of their Lives.
"Olivia, do you really have to be so harsh?" Dylan complained unhappily. "For crying out loud, I've been away for a long time and there's nothing between me and her."
But Olivia wasn't interested in listening to this.
She had been calm all along, but now, she could no longer hold herself back.
