Chapter: 4589
"Oh, so you know you've been away for a long time, huh?" she retorted with a sneer. "Do you have any idea how I've managed to spend the last two years on my own? Do you know how badly I missed you? You're my husband, yet you expect me to accept the fact that you now cohabit with another woman? As if that's not enough, your little girlfriend even asked for my blessing! Dylan, since you had made up your mind to leave me, why didn't you show up sooner? Why did you torture me for so long like this? Why did you keep me hanging?"
She had been waiting for him for days and nights on end, expecting him to come back to her one day.
She never in a second doubted his love for her, but now...
As she spoke, Olivia's voice was choked with sobs, but she was soon able to calm herself down.
She felt it was important for her to look strong in front of Dylan, so she went on in a much calmer tone, "After signing the divorce papers, I'll return your company back to you."
Dylan stared at her for a while, and then he said, “You should keep the company."
Olivia broke into an amused smile when she heard this. "No, it's better to be completely separated," she stated in a firm tone. "Good thing our marriage was a very simple one. There's nothing that needs to be divided between the two of us. You don't even need to worry anything about child support. It'll be good for us to break up completely.”
“But Olivia, that's not what I want," Dylan pleaded as he walked closer to her.
But Olivia didn't say another word.
She knew that Dylan would never understand how she felt right now.
Regardless of how good their relationship was in the past, the moment Dylan asked her to choose between Raphael and him, she knew it was time for her to back down and let go.
Even though it was not an easy thing to do, she just had to do it.
While they were waiting for the lawyer, Olivia walked up to the window and looked outside.
Over the past two years, she often spent her time at home Looking out of the window.
As a result, she was able to witness the flowers that bloomed during springtime and withered in the summer, the maple leaves that turned red in autumn, and the snow that fell during winter.
Never for once did she give up hope. She always believed that Dylan would come back, and she patiently waited for him.
Standing a few meters behind her, Dylan knew that Olivia was forcing him to choose.
As far as he was concerned, if he told her right now that there was no need for them to divorce, Olivia would probably throw herself into his arms and then they would live happily ever after. But could he really make her happy?
Before the accident, Dylan used to be very confident, but now, he was a different person.
When the lawyer finally came in, he immediately sensed the tense atmosphere in the room.
He had brought two documents, one for the divorce and the other concerning the equity interest transfer agreement for Dylan's company.
“Let's go to the company next Monday, so I can hand over the company to you officially," Olivia said to Dylan in a barely audible tone without turning to face him.
Dylan didn't say anything. He just focused on looking through the divorce agreement.
Olivia had not taken anything. The company, the apartment and everything else were still going to be his. She had given them all back to him. Just as she had said, it would be a complete and clean break up.
