Chapter: 4716
Despite their years of marriage, Laura's fascination with him hadn't faded.
Edwin Looked down at her and asked quietly, “Really, did Olivia care about him at all?"
Laura shook her head in response.
Edwin laughed softly and said, "I've told you, there's only so much I have control of! Plus, now that Dylan has moved to Czanch to win Olivia back, should I disrupt our lives too? Move all our businesses to another city just to keep an eye on him?"
Laura was speechless, staring at him in awe.
Edwin caressed her cheek gently and said, "Oh, you silly girl!"
Meanwhile, Olivia had left the party early due to her encounter with Dylan.
Her driver was waiting downstairs. As Olivia approached, he quickly came to assist her, asking, “Are you heading home alone now, Miss Evans?"
“Yes, my mother met some old friends, so she'll stay a bit longer,"
Olivia replied with a smile.
She gently touched her belly and added, “Anyway, it's fine! The baby's been very calm today!"
Despite her assurances, the driver carefully helped Olivia into the car and shut the door behind her. As he stood up, he noticed Dylan nearby.
The driver gave an awkward smile and said, “How are you, Mr. Wright?"
“I'm doing well. Could you give us a moment? I need to speak with Olivia," Dylan said.
The driver paused to consider and then knocked on the window. “Miss Evans, Mr. Wright wishes to speak with you!"
At that, Olivia Lowered the window.
"These are for you," Dylan said, extending the jewelry towards her.
Olivia looked at him silently for a moment.
After a while, she said in a cold voice, “Dylan, you gave me plenty of jewelry when we were still together. I left it all behind when I moved out of your place. I never kept the jewelry you gave me before, and I certainly don't want this either. So just keep it. You might find a use for it someday."
Dylan gazed at her intently, hoping to change her mind.
But Olivia was resolute, closing the window right after her statement...
Truthfully, the situation was difficult for both of them. Olivia hoped Dylan would just let it go, to ease her own pain, as his continued presence only felt like torture.
The driver then got into the car and started the engine.
Suddenly, tears appeared in Olivia's eyes, showing that despite her firm stance, it was still hard to remain detached from Dylan.
