Chapter: 4820
Olivia wasn't surprised to see him and asked casually, "Where's Eason?"
Lifting Leyla from the backseat, Dylan replied, “He's inside. Mom's looking after him right now."
Straightening her scarf, Olivia said nonchalantly, "She's my mom, not yours. We're not back together yet, remember?"
Balancing Leyla with one arm, Dylan responded casually. “Sure thing. I didn't mean to ruffle your feathers. It just slipped out."
Not wanting to argue further, Olivia marched into the house without another glance at Dylan.
Inside, warmth enveloped them. After shedding her coat, she carried Leyla to the bedroom.
Olivia's old room was beautifully decorated. It was only the second time Dylan had set foot in Olivia's sanctuary though.
Olivia settled Leyla on the bed.
Her woolen dress hugged her figure and her silhouette glowed in the soft light, tempting Dylan to embrace her.
As Olivia stood up, he wrapped his arms around her from behind, resting his head on her shoulder.
In a hushed tone, he asked, “What did you say to him today?"
Olivia knew Dylan had a purpose for being there. And there he was!
She attempted to shake him off but it was futile. Dylan hadn't made a move in over six months, yet now something seemed to stir him...
Still, he refrained from crossing any lines, fearing Olivia's anger might drive her away for good.
"Truth be told, Olivia, I'm feeling a tad jealous," Dylan rasped.
Olivia's heart skipped a beat at his words. In a flat tone, she shot back, "He's married now and has a son with his wife. What's there to worry about? And it's none of your business anyway whether I met or talked to him, considering we're not involved anymore."
With that, she pushed Dylan away, adding firmly, "Don't pull that again. If my family catches wind of it, they might get the wrong idea about us!"
Dylan gazed at her with intense eyes upon hearing this.
After a moment, he murmured softly, "Olivia, it's been ages. When will you let go of the past and start anew with me? I want nothing more than to spend my life with you."
With a faint smile, Olivia responded honestly, "Honestly, I'm not looking to get involved with anyone anytime soon. Dylan, if you're feeling lonely, maybe you should find someone to start your own family with. Don't waste your time on me. It's not worth it."
Seeing Olivia's resolve, Dylan held his tongue.
After all, pushing the matter further would do no good.
So he whispered softly, “Fair enough. You're the boss!"
Olivia didn't take his words to heart. Dylan had said similar things before and she was sure he'd soon bring that up again. He constantly talked about wanting to spend his life with her and being a good husband... For Olivia, it didn't matter if she forgave Dylan or not; she simply wasn't in the mood to deal with their relationship, neither physically nor mentally.
