Chapter: 4849
Early in the morning, Olivia arrived at the hospital.
When she opened the door to her father's hospital room, she saw him lying on the bed. He seemed to look better than he was the previous night. His condition had stabilised now that the IV treatment had been administered.
Cecilia, on her part, was resting her head on the edge of the bed and had since fallen asleep.
But Dylan was not sleeping. He was seated on the sofa, browsing through some work files on his phone.
He properly didn't sleep a wink last night. As a result, his face looked a bit haggard.
Olivia stood at the door and watched them for a while. Then she walked in and patted Cecilia on the shoulder to wake her up.
"Ohhh," Cecilia groaned as she slowly roused herself from her slumber.
But when she saw who was tapping her, she exclaimed. “Olivia! Here you are!"
Then she sat up and explained to her, "Your dad is fine now. But the doctor said he will have to spend a few more days in the hospital just to be safe."
She paused for a moment before continuing, "Please tell Dylan that he needs to go home and rest. He's been here all night!"
But Olivia insisted that Cecilia should go home instead of sleeping in the hospital. After all, she was no longer a young woman.
“ALL right then," Cecilia eventually conceded and turned around to look at Mark. “Let me go back and ask the kitchen to make some soup for your dad. He must have been very busy with those social engagements of his, that's why he ended up like this. He doesn't realize that he's now an old man and he needs to be very careful!"
Olivia couldn't help but smile at this as she helped Cecilia pack up her things.
As for Dylan, he was so focused on his work that he didn't notice Olivia's presence until Cecilia was about to leave. It was at this moment that Cecilia told him that he also needed to go home and get some a rest. “Well, maybe later,” he grumbled. “I'll go home and take a nap in the afternoon, and come back in the evening."
When Cecilia heard this, she stole a glance at Olivia and wanted to say something, but she changed her mind and kept quiet.
Olivia, on her part, didn't disagree when Dylan said that he would return to the hospital to look after Mark.
This did not surprise Cecilia. She knew that the two of them had reconciled with each other. From the time Dylan saved her and their baby's life from the accident that stormy night, the tension between them had reduced significantly. Now, they seemed to be gradually getting back to how they used to be.
This was a great source of relief for Cecilia, and she left the hospital room quite satisfied with the state of things.
When Cecilia had gone, Olivia focused on taking care of Mark. As she wiped his face and hands with a towel, she couldn't help but feel a bit sad. He was getting old as time went on. She didn't know how long she could be by his side to take care of him.
As if he had read her mind, Dylan suddenly said to her in a comforting tone, "Stop thinking about sad things, Olivia. Stay positive and enjoy the goodness of the moment."
Olivia turned to look at him and sighed. Perhaps it was due to the differences in environment they grew up in. Dylan always Looked at the bright side of everything.
Since he grew up abroad, he had adopted a kind of mindset that was very different from hers.
As a result, she didn't bother to argue with him. Instead, she said flatly, "You should take a nap on the couch. I'll look after my father."
"Okay." Dylan nodded in agreement.
