Chapter: 4850
Afterwards, Olivia went to the bathroom to wash the towel. But her mind drifted off again as she stood in front of the mirror.
ALL of a sudden, she noticed another figure appear on the mirror.
It was Dylan. Approaching her quietly from behind, he grabbed her waist with one hand and whispered in her ear, “Are you still worrying about your dad? Come on. I'm sure he will live for another good ten years at least.”
“That's not long enough," Olivia countered, her eyes already getting filled with tears.
Dylan just stared at her quietly for a moment. Then he held her in his arms and kissed her passionately.
Olivia was embarrassed. She quickly pushed him away and straightened her clothes.
But before she could rush out of the bathroom, Dylan grabbed her wrist and told her in a hoarse voice, "Don't cry anymore."
Olivia nodded, but her eyes were still red. When she finally got back to the room, she found that Mark had already woken up.
After noticing her teary eyes, Mark tried to light up the mood and said teasingly, "Well, even though I'm sick, you two could still find time to make out with each other. Isn't that wonderful? A hospital must be a very convenient place for you guys."
"Stop making fun of me, Dad," Olivia grumbled, feigning annoyance.
"Fine," Mark chuckled. "I'll cut you some slack this time. By the way, don't worry too much about me. I only had a few more glasses of alcohol. That's all. Your mom cried like a baby last night. So I promised her that it won't happen again."
“Humph, you always say that but never keep your word," Olivia snorted doubtfully.
"That's because I can drink like a fish and I never get drunk," Mark argued. "It's just a minor problem with my stomach. It's not a big deal."
Olivia didn't say anything in response.
But Mark knew that she was angry with him, so he kept coaxing her.
After he promised and promised, Olivia had no choice but to forgive him.
“I'm telling you, you silly girl, that I'm perfectly fine," he chuckled, ruffling her hair playfully.
They were still bantering when someone suddenly knocked on the door.
It was the maid from home bringing breakfast for Mark. But she also brought something for Dylan.
Being a considerate person, Cecilia didn't forget to prepare something to Dylan's liking despite the fact that she had not rested well yet. After finishing the meal, Dylan turned on his laptop and went back to work as usual.
Olivia looked at him for a moment but said nothing.
As if he could read her mind, Dylan said in a gentle tone, “There's a meeting this morning and it's kind of urgent. I promise, after this, I'll go home and sleep."
When Olivia checked the time, she shook her head in disapproval.
“Maybe you should go back to Duefron," she told him. “It's not good for your health to tire yourself out like this."
