Chapter: 4865
He felt for her but stood by his call. They were done and there was no going back. So, he just nodded and took off.
Once he was gone, Elva couldn't bring herself to finish breakfast.
Instead, she packed her things slowly.
She only took her personal stuff. The matching outfits they used to wear together and the gifts he had given her, she all tossed in a box and chucked out.
The apartment was a wreck once she was done.
She didn't hesitate as she left!
Back at her own place downtown, she sank into bed, exhausted from last night's tears.
Meanwhile, Luis sat in his car.
He rang up Holley, asking if she fancied having breakfast together.
Women had a knack for picking up on things and Luis had never made contact with her in the morning before.
Holley figured Luis must have come clean to his girlfriend.
Or maybe they'd called it quits.
Sure enough, when Luis swung by, he spilled the beans: he and Elva were done, and he was now a single man. He asked whether Holley wanted to be his girlfriend, and he even mentioned his intention to marry her.
Holley was a looker from a small town. After her affair with Luis, she had secretly come to check out Elva out of curiosity.
She never imagined Luis would ditch someone like Elva for her.
Yet here he was, asking her to be his girlfriend and perhaps wife in the future?!
She blushed, but she was also thrilled. "Are you being serious? What about Miss Fowler?"
Luis was taken aback.
What did Holley mean by that?
Holley inquired cautiously, "Did you wrap things up with her? Did you give her any compensation for the break-up?"
