Chapter: 4866
Hearing Holley's question, Luis caught on. She was worried about how things had ended with Elva. Recalling Elva's morning jab, he grunted, "She was itching to ditch me!"
Holley breathed a sigh of relief at his response.
Then, she whisked Luis off to a diner for breakfast.
But as they stepped inside, Luis scowled.
The floor was littered with used tissues and the dishes were stained...
Plus, the food wasn't exactly his cup of tea.
But it was his first outing with Holley, so he bit the bullet.
Unaware of his discomfort, Holley chattered on about the restaurant's history. Beaming at Luis, she exclaimed, "One day, I'll open a place like this with free breakfast for you every morning, Luis!"
Hearing this, Luis forced a smile.
Luis was unimpressed by the food at this small diner.
Despite his disappointment with the food, he was captivated by Holley's passion as she shared her dream with him. He found her unique and fascinating, a refreshing change from the many beautiful and elegant women Like Elva who usually surrounded him.
Luis couldn't picture Elva ever setting foot in a humble restaurant like this for breakfast, let alone deigning to eat here.
If Elva did come here, Luis was sure she wasn't definitely forced to.
Luis' expression darkened slightly, his brow furrowing in concern after a long moment of contemplation.
He realized his mind had wandered, and he was unexpectedly thinking of his ex-girlfriend. Their relationship had ended because he had grown tired of her, but it seemed his subconscious still lingered on the memory. This wasn't right since he had found someone new.
Holley continued to talk.
Luis broke in quietly, “How about we get breakfast elsewhere? I know a good place nearby."
Holley's eyes widened in surprise, her gaze fixed on him.
Her words were laced with doubt. “Why? Is something wrong with this place? You don't like it here?"
He explained calmly, "It's not that I don't like this place. The wait is too long. Let's go to a place I know that serves fantastic breakfast and coffee."
