Chapter: 4889
To be completely honest, Luis didn't have romantic feelings for Holley.
In fact, he had never truly loved Elva either; he simply liked her.
His emotions towards Holley were similar.
However, his affection for Holley was more akin to that felt towards a family member. He saw a Life with her as straightforward and satisfying. Opting not to marry a socialite, he settled on Holley.
He thought for a moment and said, "I'm just introducing her to Grandpa as a friend. Perhaps he'll appreciate her straightforwardness."
Joann's face grew stern as she realized Holley might already be there at the party.
Loving Luis deeply and unwilling to jeopardize their relationship, she mustered a smile and said, “Luis, you know your grandfather's standards. A friend is still a friend. I'll let her come in, but please, don't make this hard for me."
Luis said with a smile, "Mom, you're going to like her."
Joann remained silent.
Luis headed to the parking lot to see Holley, answering her call on the way.
Holley had grown restless and slightly annoyed after waiting in the car for some time. She did not anticipate such a frosty welcome on her first day visiting as Luis' girlfriend.
Luis calmed her with soothing words.
Right when he was about to open the car door for Holley, a black sedan arrived. Kyler and Elva emerged.
Elva was dressed in a floor-length blue gown.
As Luis had anticipated, she looked breathtaking.
He quickly figured out that Elva had dressed elegantly for Kyler's sake at the gathering.
Though uneasy, Luis maintained a courteous smile and welcomed them.
Kyler had already suspected something about their past. After questioning Elva, she confirmed they had been together previously.
Elva then asked Kyler if this bothered him, suggesting they could split up if it was an issue.
Kyler wasn't exactly open-minded but he recognized that everyone had a history.
