Chapter: 1530
Sadie's expression gradually soured.
Sensing the tension, a store clerk suggested, “How about customizing rings with your initials? They'll get a unique touch!"
Excited, Sadie was about to agree when Holden, working silently on his phone, interjected, "Nope!"
Before Sadie could react, Holden picked out a plain pair of rings.
"These will do."
And just like that, he left.
Sadie felt a wave of bitterness rise as she watched Holden Leave.
She bit her lip, not daring to say anything, but it was impossible to ignore the fact that Holden's frustration with her had been showing. And it had all begun when that bitch Ariana made a comeback!
Sadie harbored intense resentment. She clenched her teeth, wanting to break free from this situation.
Returning home in a foul mood, Holden retreated to his study. He couldn't resist the need to think about Ariana. He began drinking by himself. He couldn't tell how long he had been drinking as the empty bottles piled up all around him.
At that moment, the door creaked open, and Sadie sauntered in, clad in a silk nightgown. Her intent was to seduce Holden. Seeing him inebriated brought a sense of satisfaction.
It was finally the chance she had been waiting for!
She climbed onto the bed, attempting to entice him. However, Holden, lost in a drunken haze, only muttered Ariana's name.
Sadie was incensed to hear this, but she also was not about to waste this wonderful opportunity.
So, she got undressed and lay down next to him.
The next morning, Holden woke up with his head throbbing, a clear reminder of last night's drinking. Still feeling bleary-eyed, he instinctively reached for his phone, only to accidentally brush against something soft unexpectedly.
Quickly withdrawing his hand, he was startled to find Sadie lying naked beside him in bed. Shock initially gripped him, but it soon gave way to a nonchalant acceptance of the situation.
Sadie's eyes blinked open around the same time. A charming blush spread across her cheeks as she met his gaze bashfully.
"Are you alright? After last night..." Her words trailed off, her face reddening.
Holden had gathered his composure by then. His gaze briefly scanned her before he responded matter-of-factly, "I just had too many drinks last night."
