Chapter: 1531
“It's alright..." Sadie murmured, her head bowed submissively as she waited for his next words. But instead of expressing concern or care, all he said was, "Go check if Adele is up yet."

His instruction caught Sadie off guard. She lifted her head in disbelief, wondering if she had misheard.

What the hell! Was that all? Wasn't he not going to ask about what had happened between them last night? Not a word hinting at concern for her well-being?

Sadie refused to make peace with the fact that Holden could be so indifferent now. There had to be a reason.

Her thoughts came to a halt when she noticed Holden already halfway dressed, behaving as though nothing had happened at all.

Gritting her teeth, Sadie thought to herself that he had been intoxicated last night. So, whether anything truly happened was something she could maneuver as she pleased.

Casually twirling a lock of her hair around her finger, she remarked, "You were quite rough last night... I'm feeling a bit sore down there this morning."

Holden remained silent, evading her attempts. He ignored her suggestive remarks and smoothly sidestepped her physical advances.

After giving him one last sulky glance, Sadie stormed out of the room.

Holden's expression remained unreadable as he watched her leave.

In the world of business, drinking was often par for the course.

Holden had built up a tolerance over time. He knew that when he got drunk, he would simply pass out instead of losing consciousness.

Therefore, he knew that, after imbibing too much last night, he had gone straight to bed and slept-there was no possibility that anything could have happened between him and Sadie.

However, he hadn't anticipated her audacity in slipping into his bed.

She was far too bold for her own good.

After grabbing some daily necessities at the mall in Melcorn, Ariana and Mitchel were on their way back to the hospital.

During the ride, Ariana kept fussing with her phone, desperately attempting to switch the SIM card into a spare to access her social media accounts. There could be important messages waiting for her attention. Strangely enough, both her phone and SIM card seemed beyond repair.

With the SIM card unusable, logging into her accounts was proving impossible.

Noticing her struggle, Mitchel suggested, "If it's not urgent, just use a new SIM for now until we're back home. You can always get a replacement card later."

Mitchel's words instantly brought thoughts of Holden to Ariana's mind.
