Chapter: 1568
If she didn't agree to join the photo, Adele would certainly feel bad, which was her last desire.
In a sudden turn of events, Holden chimed in, “Sure, let's take the photo."
Observing Holden's lack of explanation, Ariana followed suit and took a posture holding Adele's hand, letting the staff capture the familial moment.
Standing on either side of Adele, Holden and Ariana both held Adele's hands and looked toward the camera. Adele, with traces of cream remnants on her cheeks, looked at the camera with infectious joy.
"Okay, one, two, three!" The Polaroid camera was raised by the staff and pointed at them. Adele smiled pleasantly, and dimples formed at the corners of her Lips.
With the snap, a tangible memory was created, and the staff handed out copies after printing.
As Ariana marveled at Adele's radiant smile in the photograph, she couldn't contain her enthusiasm. "This is the first time I've seen Adele smiling so brightly."
Holding the photo, Ariana experienced an overwhelming joy.
Could this emotional rollercoaster signify an improvement in Adele's condition?
Overwhelmed by genuine happiness, Ariana thought about how Adele's condition finally had hope and turned to Holden, exclaiming, “Look, this suggests there's a real chance for Adele's condition to get better. It's truly wonderful!"
Holden, looking happy, responded with a smile, "Seeing Adele so happy, it's the first time for me, too! It's all thanks to you; her condition started changing after you came into her life."
Slightly embarrassed by the compliments, Ariana gently touched Adele's head, meeting Holden's eyes. A sudden realization hit her, and she slapped her forehead. "Ah!" She winced in pain, having forgotten about the wound on her head.
Concerned, Holden checked her wound immediately, relieved to find it unharmed. Frowning, he asked, “What got you so excited?"
Ariana, still holding her head, replied, "I just remembered Melon is still at the kindergarten, waiting to be picked up. It's past the school's closing time. I need to hurry!"
“Let's go. I'll join you," Holden offered, lifting Adele.
Observing this, Ariana hesitated for a moment, looked at Holden, and then spoke up. "Melon, he..."
"What?" Holden stopped, turned to Ariana, and grinned, teasing, "What's the matter? Don't you want me to meet our son?"
Ariana wanted to say something, but in the end, she didn't. After thinking for a while, she averted her gaze and murmured with a hesitant tone, "I thought you might have some doubts about Melon's real identity."
As soon as she finished speaking, she felt a gentle tap on her head where there was no injury. She looked up at Holden, who was smiling at her, and he said, "What nonsense are you talking about? I would never doubt you or Melon."
After making this statement, Holden seemed to remember something and chuckled. "No wonder I had a special feeling for Melon the very first time I met him. It turns out that we are related by blood."
