Chapter: 1569
Ariana simply smiled but didn't say anything else. Holden suggested that he would come along with her. Since Sonia had left already, it was actually safer to have Holden accompany her. Besides, with her current condition, she wouldn't be able to drive alone.
So, Ariana nodded, and the two of them took little Adele to the kindergarten where Melon was.
While they were on their way, the kindergarten was almost empty. The parents had picked up their children one after another, and in the end, only Melon was left alone in the waiting area. In his small hand, there was a green frog-shaped rubber toy.
When he squeezed it, the toy would make a recorded sound.
Melon had been waiting for quite some time, but he didn't seem Like he was scared or angry. He was just a bit worried because his mother tended to be forgetful from time to time.
Although Ariana often claimed that his godmother could be clumsy and absent-minded, in Melon's eyes, they were quite alike in that regard.
As Melon played with his toy, his brows furrowed slightly. He couldn't help but wonder why his mother hadn't arrived yet. He had thought of numerous possibilities while he was waiting to be picked up.
In his thoughts, he asked himself, “Could Mommy have gotten lost on the way, or perhaps she had forgotten his school dismissal time?"
Little Melon, despite his young age, let out a deep sigh, thinking that his mommy's absent-mindedness was truly worrisome. What if something bad had happened to her?
As Melon went through different scenarios in his head, he furrowed his brows even tighter.
At that moment, one of his teachers approached him and said in a soft tone, “Melon, would you like something to eat? We still have some fresh fruits in the kindergarten. Do you want some of them?"
"Thank you, but I'm not hungry." Melon raised his head and looked up at his teacher. Shaking his head, he said seriously, "You can go ahead and do your work. I'm a big boy now. I don't need someone to stay with me. My mommy should be here to pick me up soon."
The teacher couldn't help but chuckle at Melon's earnest demeanor.
She was about to say something to comfort him, but the sound of footsteps from outside caught both of their attention, and they both looked at the door. Shortly after, the glass door was swung open, and the clear voice of a little girl was heard. "Melon!"
Melon lifted his head in confusion, but when he saw Adele, his eyes widened, and he exclaimed in surprise, "Adele!"
He jumped off his chair and ran over to hug her.
Seeing the two children happily hugging each other near the door, the teacher was quite shocked. Wasn't Melon the only child of Ariana? How come he had a sister now?
Just while the teacher was still lost in her thoughts, Ariana walked in. But she wasn't alone. Behind her, a handsome man followed.
The teacher was even more astonished at the sight of Holden.
She had seen Melon's mom before but had never seen his dad. She hadn't expected him to be so good-looking as well.
