Chapter: 1576
With tears filling her eyes, Sadie slowly crouched down next to Holden. She looked at him and muttered, “Holden, we once loved each other. Adele is proof. Please give me another chance for Adele's sake..."

As Sadie spoke, she grabbed Holden's hand and placed it on her belly.

She added, "Moreover, I'm still carrying your child. You can't be so heartless as to abandon me when I am pregnant. Please, I'm begging you. I don't want to be with Zayden. You're the only one I love."

"So you're saying you're carrying my baby now?" Holden's laugh was cold, mocking, as he withdrew his hand and fixed Sadie with an icy stare. “Sadie, have I ever laid a hand on you? Surely, you know the answer to that."

Yet, Sadie's gaze remained unflinching, her eyes brimming with pain and despair. “That night, you were lost to the drink. Do you not recall your actions?"

Tears streamed down her face as she locked eyes with Holden, her voice laced with deep-seated resentment. "Do you even remember whom you mistook me for that night? You thought I was Ariana!"

Her voice rose, breaking with emotion. "I have borne this burden silently, but why? Why do you refuse to acknowledge our child? This is your child!"

Holden's composure momentarily wavered upon her declaration, his countenance turning grave.

If he had indeed mistaken her for Ariana that night, maybe... Doubt began to gnaw at him, planting seeds of uncertainty.

Overwhelmed, Sadie gasped for air amidst her sobs, her distress manifesting so acutely that she found herself kneeling, clutching her chest.

Holden realized the gravity of her condition-a heart attack was seizing her. He was about to summon help to rush her to the hospital when Sadie clutched at his sleeve, her breaths coming in ragged gasps, her face contorted in agony. But her eyes never left Holden's. "I'm bearing your child. You cannot turn your back on your own blood," she said.

Holden furrowed his brows in confusion and disbelief. He had always been certain that his actions under the influence of alcohol could never lead to such consequences. Yet, witnessing Sadie's unwavering conviction, especially after her claims of mistaken identity, sowed seeds of doubt in his mind. Could it be possible that he had indeed slept with her that night?

As Sadie clung to him, her breathing labored and desperate, Holden realized the urgency of the situation. Without hesitation, he accompanied her to the hospital.

After a series of treatments and efforts, Sadie's condition was finally stabilized.

Holden, tormented by uncertainty and the ramifications of that night, paced outside the emergency room, his thoughts a whirlwind of agitation.

The doctor's appearance brought a somber reality into focus. "Miss Pierre's heart condition makes pregnancy perilously risky," he explained. “It's a significant strain on her health. We advise terminating the pregnancy to avoid severe complications later on, both for her and the unborn child."

“She's not suitable for pregnancy?" The question echoed in Holden's mind, furrowing his brow even further. After the doctor's confirmation, a sudden thought crossed Holden's mind.

If Sadie was deemed unsuitable for pregnancy, how then had she safely delivered Adele before?

Holden turned to the doctor with a puzzled look. "If she manages her heart condition well, will the risks be minimized?" he asked.

The doctor, with a heavy sigh, explained the gravity of Sadie's situation. "Miss Pierre's heart condition is inherent, complicated further by a heart transplant. The likelihood of a successful pregnancy is minimal, and should she carry a child to term, her health could suffer significantly."
