Chapter: 1584
Ariana nodded, prepared to hand Adele over to Shawn. To her surprise, Adele clung tightly to her neck and buried her little head in her shoulder, whispering softly, “Aria, don't go. Aria, don't go."
Touched by the child's reluctance, Ariana felt her heart soften. She suggested, "How about I come along with Adele to the hospital?"
"If it's not too much trouble for you, of course you can." Shawn showed respect towards Ariana. While not daring to ask too much, he didn't need to probe to discern his boss' attitude towards Ariana.
Moreover, in character, capability, and care for Adele, Ariana surpassed Sadie by Leaps and bounds.
Ariana smiled and responded, "No trouble at all. I've got nothing else going on this afternoon."
After providing comfort to Adele for a while, Ariana gracefully excused herself to change into more suitable attire to accompany Adele to the hospital for the examination.
Upon arriving at Mercy Hospital, Adele obediently followed the doctor for the examination, leaving Ariana to be stationed outside to wait.
In the meantime, Ariana's phone buzzed with an incoming call from Marge. After exchanging pleasantries, Marge cut to the chase and said, “Ariana, do you have any free time lately? I'm working on a dating variety show."
After leaving the Anderson Group, Marge had taken over the variety show industry and found her footing there. Over the past five years, Marge had carved her niche in the industry, producing several highly acclaimed variety shows. Her behind-the-scenes influence had not gone unnoticed, earning her recognition in the field.
“Why are you calling me?" Expecting a business-related discussion, Ariana was curious.
Marge, with a cheerful tone, revealed, "I was thinking, if you're free, you could come and participate. I'd love to invite you to the show. I've carefully handpicked some fantastic guests for this episode, and they are all great."
Upon learning that it was a reality show, Ariana promptly contemplated turning the offer down. Becoming a celebrity or entering the entertainment realm was far from Ariana's intentions. Her past participation in variety shows had been only to support Jayson.
“Dating variety shows don't particularly pique my interest." Ariana expressed her inclination to decline.
In response, Marge swiftly said, "Ariana, allow me to clarify. I oversee this dating variety show, and I assure you, there won't be any scripted situations. You'll witness the authentic side of the participants. I've meticulously chosen the male guests, almost to the extent of researching their backgrounds. They are genuinely exceptional men. If you have some spare time, just come and have a look, alright?"
Marge's enthusiasm for promoting the show stemmed solely from her belief in the impressive participants of this season. When considering Ariana, Marge was aware of Ariana's lingering attachment to Theodore over the past five years. She didn't want Ariana to continue enduring this pain and wished for her to break free from Theodore's shadow. She believed that acquainting Ariana with new individuals and altering her perspective could prove advantageous for Ariana.
Sensing the sincerity in Marge's appeal, Ariana sighed, acknowledging her genuine intentions. Marge didn't know Theodore was alive, after all.
"Alright, I'll think about it," Ariana responded. "If you truly need my assistance, I'll be there. However, if it's solely about finding me a partner, I'm not interested in that right now. I appreciate your offer, though. Thank you."
After hearing Ariana's response, Marge understood that convincing Ariana to come might not be possible. She didn't want to manipulate Ariana into participating, so she sighed and said, "Okay, Ariana, take your time to consider it. I'll reach out to you again later."
Following a brief exchange, they ended the call. Coincidentally, Adele emerged. Shawn was conversing with a physician, who told Shawn that all was well about Adele's health.
Adele approached Ariana, fixing her gaze on her. Ariana smiled and tousled Adele's hair affectionately, pulling out a piece of candy as a treat. “You're doing great," she remarked.
