Chapter: 1629
Despite all this, Sonia felt wronged. She was the one who ended up being blamed. If only Maxwell hadn't been so demanding, they might have settled this sooner.

As she simmered with anger, Sonia's gaze landed on Maxwell's noticeably firm posterior. Clenching her teeth, she walked up to him and delivered a sharp slap to it.

Sonia took off running after the loud noise echoed. Maxwell, taken aback, shivered as his eyes went wide. Clutching his butt, he spun around to stare at Sonia, utterly astonished.

What had she done? Could a woman really act so recklessly?

Once Maxwell grasped what had just occurred, he thought about chasing after Sonia. But Sonia was quick, vanishing in an instant and leaving Maxwell there, clenching his teeth in frustration.

Having just returned from overseas, Maxwell was frustrated to run into someone like Sonia. Suddenly, he spotted a work badge on the ground. It bore Sonia's photo, her name, and the name of her company.

Maxwell looked up the company on his phone and muttered with a scoff, "Sonia, huh? Just wait and see."

Sonia hurried away from where she had caused the commotion, feeling oddly satisfied after unleashing her frustration. Thinking about Maxwell's bewildered and gloomy expression made her smirk with self-satisfaction, not realizing she had dropped her work badge.

She then drove to Sarah's house. Right as she reached the entrance, she stumbled upon Holden, who drove Ariana there.

Holden and Ariana shared a kiss and a heartfelt goodbye at the door.

Holden gently touched her head, smiling, "I'll be waiting for you at home with the kids."

Ariana returned the smile and watched Holden drive off.

The moment Holden left, Sonia popped out from around the corner and playfully spanked Ariana. With a teasing grin, Sonia pulled Ariana close, mimicking, “Oh, I'LL be waiting for you at home with the kids."

Blushing, Ariana shot Sonia a look and pinched her arm, saying, “Hey, cut it out."

Then, she cleared her throat and asked with concern, “What's going on with Sarah?"

Sonia gave a nonchalant shrug and replied, “Not sure. I went to spy on Sadie today but ended up taking a photo of Sarah. She said it was too complicated to explain over the phone and suggested we visit her. So, I guess we should just go in and ask her."

Ariana nodded, and together, they knocked on the door. It wasn't long before the door swung open.

The room was dark, and Sarah, looking quite down, greeted them at the door. She managed a smile and welcomed them inside.

As they stepped in, Ariana noticed the chill in the air. The place wasn't a mess, but it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in a while, with a fine layer of dust covering some areas. Despite the AC being off, the room felt unusually cold.

Once inside, Ariana flipped on the light switch. The room brightened up, yet it remained eerily silent. Sarah brought out two plates of fruit from the kitchen, set them on the table, and took a seat on the sofa.
