Chapter: 1732
Layers of cold sweat oozed out of her forehead.
She had a nightmare. It was that car accident five years ago. The impact caused a loud crashing sound. Theodore and Helen were covered in blood. Helen crawled towards her, screaming to kill her.
But the moment Helen pounced on her, the scene changed. Everyone was on a huge ship, including Mitchel.
Suddenly, the ship began to shake violently and sink slowly. Helen stared at her coldly from behind. She ran to the bow of the ship in fear, only to see Mitchel fall into the sea when she turned around.
Her dream abruptly stopped.
"No!" With a scream, Ariana suddenly woke up from her slumber and jolted up. Her clothes were drenched in sweat.
Her hands clutched the sheet tightly as she tried to catch her breath. While she was still trying to gather her thoughts, someone pulled her into a warm embrace.
Holden held her in his arms, his large hands patting her back to soothe her anxiety. With a gentle voice, he muttered, "You're safe here."
Ariana couldn't help but tremble in his arms. It seemed she still couldn't get her nightmare out of her head.
When Holden touched her trembling hands, he found that her body was cold.
"It's just a nightmare. Did you dream of something?" Holden asked softly and gently rubbed her hands to warm her up.
It took a long time for Ariana to come back to her senses. Her expression was still that of a terrified one. She tightly grasped Holden's collar and said in fear, " I dreamed that Mitchel fell into the sea."
She suddenly thought of something and asked nervously, "By the way, where is Mitchel? Didn't he come out with you to save me? Why didn't I see him?"
Ariana couldn't shake off the dream from her mind and thought it was real. Her voice trembled.
Looking at her pitiful state, Holden felt bad. He held her in his arms and comforted her, saying, "He came here just now. You were sleeping when he dropped by, so he went back to deal with the follow-up work of the crew of the program. He will come tomorrow. Don't worry. It was just a nightmare. It was not real. We are all fine.”
He comforted Ariana for a while, and eventually, she calmed down a little. She took a deep breath and said, "Well, maybe I'm just too nervous."
Then, she asked, “What about the person behind all of this? Have you found the person?"
Holden's face turned serious. He patted her on the back and said, "Don't worry. I'll deal with that. You should have a good rest in the hospital these days. Trust me. Everything will be fine soon.”
Ariana nodded. Holden's large hands wiped away the tears from the corner of Ariana's eyes, and he added, "I've been handling this situation with care recently. I've blocked the news. In order to lure out the real culprit, you must stay put. Don't go wandering. Don't worry about anything else."
"I trust you," Ariana replied softly.
