Chapter: 1808
Outside in the corridor, Holden felt a strong urge to smoke. But when he reached into his pocket, he only found the lollipop Ariana had prepared for him.
He toyed with it, his expression still stormy.
Devin asked, "Sir, what should we do about this situation?"
“Don't let Sadie near Adele again," Holden declared firmly, returning the lollipop to his pocket.
Devin nodded in agreement, sighing in his heart. Even though Sadie was Adele's biological mother, she had been abusing Adele. She couldn't even compare to Ariana, who had been treating Adele with love. It was only just that Sadie faced the consequences.
In the hospital, Sadie looked pale and clutched her belly, her face a mix of shock and anger.
She believed that Ariana was the cause of her almost losing her baby.
It seemed like trouble followed Ariana wherever she went.
When Sadie tried to open up to Holden about it, Holden didn't show any sympathy. Worse yet, he had the audacity to question if she was the one who had scratched Ariana's neck.
This only heightened Sadie's distress, bringing her to tears.
Chloe was beside her, trying to offer comfort. “Don't worry; the doctor said the baby is fine."
Then, driven by curiosity, she couldn't help but ask, "But seriously, what's the deal with that woman? Are all those wild rumors online actually true?"
At that moment, Sadie broke down again, sobbing. “It's all lies! That woman is setting me up! She made a move on Holden first, trying to tear us apart. She's destroyed everything, especially my relationship with Holden, and now, she nearly had me killed!"
Seeing Sadie so distraught, Chloe quickly moved to comfort her, worried she might become overly stressed.
Sadie continued, "Not only has she taken Holden away from me, but she also wants to take my child! Think about Adele; she's still so little, and she needs her mother."
Chloe, who had been unsure of what to believe, felt swayed by Sadie's intense emotions and exclaimed, “I can't believe Ariana would stoop this low. She's shameless!"
Filled with a rush of protective anger, Chloe reassured Sadie, “Don't worry; if she's really like that, we'll expose her online."
This seemed to lift Sadie's spirits a bit, although she kept up her act, dabbing at her tears before asking, “Really? But is that okay? Holden is so charmed by her. If he finds out about it, he'll be mad at me."
Chloe, still seething, replied swiftly, “Why worry? You haven't done anything wrong; it's all Ariana's fault. Holden has no reason to be mad at you."
After thinking it over for a moment, Sadie nodded in agreement. “Okay, let's do it."
