Chapter: 1841
“What did you just say?" Maxwell asked through gritted teeth, his expression darkening.
Setting down his utensils, Maxwell narrowed his eyes slightly and leaned closer to Sonia. With a faint smile, he uttered in a playful manner, "Give it a try, and you'll find out if my stamina is lacking."
Sonia was caught off guard by Maxwell's words. As he moved closer, she couldn't help but notice the subtle scent of his cologne. Her eyes remained fixed on his finely detailed face, momentarily mesmerized. As Maxwell inched closer, her gaze lingered on his appealing lips.
“What are you two doing?"
At that moment, Ariana returned with a dessert plate, holding Melon's hand. She observed Sonia and Maxwell with a mix of confusion and curiosity.
Snapping back to reality, Sonia pushed Maxwell aside and exclaimed, “You're such a scoundrel!"
Maxwell's audacity in attempting to seduce her was beyond belief!
Maxwell composed himself and adjusted his collar with a playful smile aimed at Sonia. He then resumed eating, picking up his utensils to cut his steak. Turning to Ariana, he casually replied, "We're just having a casual conversation about enhancing literary artistry."
Sonia arched an eyebrow upon hearing Maxwell's intention to elevate her explicit novel in a serious manner. Stealthily, she pressed down on Maxwell's foot beneath the table with hers, gritting her teeth as she said, "Keep quiet or leave immediately.”
She anticipated a retort from Maxwell, yet, to her surprise, Maxwell fell silent.
Sonia shot Maxwell a glare and withdrew her foot, focusing on her meal.
Seated beside them, Ariana observed Sonia and Maxwell, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
After her brief visit to the dessert area, the atmosphere between Sonia and Maxwell seemed odd. She could sense the flirtatious vibe between them.
Ariana chose not to say anything about it and engaged in occasional conversation with Sonia, enjoying her meal.
Following their meal, the trio headed towards the restaurant's entrance.
"I didn't drive here today. Can you give me a ride?" Sonia held onto Ariana's arm.
Due to staying up late and feeling unwell this morning, Sonia had opted not to drive.
After considering for a moment, Ariana responded, "I didn't drive here, either. Let me ask Devin about it. He drove me here today, and he will be here to pick me up soon."
"Never mind then. Since Devin is fetching you, I'll take a taxi."
Sonia prepared to hail a cab from the roadside.
