Chapter: 1857
Ariana was laughing at their kiss-covered cheeks when Devin walked in and said, "Miss Edwards, the driver's ready."
Devin had been supposed to take them, but something urgent had come up at work.
Since it was just a short ride to the estate and the backup driver was someone Devin knew, Ariana was fine with the change of plans.
"Alright," Ariana said, standing up with a smile.
Devin handed her their things and gently reminded her, “Miss Edwards, be careful."
"Don't worry. The farm's safe," Ariana assured him, taking the stuff and guiding the kids toward the car.
Once they got to the farm, Ariana took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh country air. It was a refreshing change from the city's hustle and bustle.
The villa was lively with many Luxury cars parked before the gate.
It was clear Rodney had invited lots of guests. Rodney noticed Ariana and the children as soon as they arrived and came over with a big grin.
"Who do we have here?" he said with a cheerful voice.
"Rodney!" Melon darted over to hug Rodney, handing him a model.
“Adele and I made this for you."
Rodney was thrilled, grabbing both kids by the hand and leading them inside while chatting with Ariana. "It's been ages; you young folks always seem to be busy.”
Ariana smiled and glanced toward the banquet hall, asking, "Where's Mitchel?"
Rodney snorted and grumbled, "He's still in the lab, but he'll join us soon. He's always stuck in there. He barely comes home."
"Well, he's really focused on his work, and you know, with great power comes great responsibility," Ariana said, defending Mitchel.
"I'm sure he's always thinking of you."
Rodney's face brightened since he noticed that Ariana was willing to defend Mitchel.
Upon entering the villa, Ariana immediately noticed a significant change in the living room. A larger and more elaborate chandelier now illuminated the entire space, lending a brighter atmosphere.
Additionally, the walls were adorned with oil paintings depicting serene scenes of rural life.
