Chapter: 1915
Sarah felt a bit awkward, not knowing how to explain the matter about Sonia's ‘idol’. But under their curious gazes, she told them about what she had said to Sonia.
After listening to her, Maxwell was at a loss for words, and Aziel could only sigh and rub his forehead.
Given Sonia's nature, it was tough to determine if the shock had anything to do with what Sarah had said.
The operating room's lights quickly dimmed as the doctor emerged, looking serious.
Sarah's heart sank when she saw the doctor's expression. She clung to Aziel's hand tightly, her tears flowing uncontrollably. "Doctor, is she "
She tried to ask, but her voice faltered. Aziel comforted her with a gentle touch on her shoulder.
Maxwell stepped forward, urgently inquiring, “Doctor, how is she? What's the current situation?"
The doctor removed his mask, offering a small smile. "Good news, she's awake!"
Sarah, who was on the brink of sobbing, froze. Then, tears of joy streamed down her face as she asked in surprise, "She woke up? But her heart had stopped... How did she come around?"
It took a moment for the news to sink in, but when it did, happiness overwhelmed Sarah. She exclaimed, "So she's okay now? Can we see her?"
The doctor nodded. "Yes, but please stay calm and don't disturb her rest."
“Thank you, doctor," Maxwell said, smiling as he hurried toward the room, nearly bumping into Sarah in his haste.
Sarah staggered, but Aziel swiftly caught her. “Are you alright?" he asked, worry etched on his face as he checked if Sarah was injured.
"I'm fine," Sarah reassured him, puzzled by Maxwell's sudden entrance.
Turning to Aziel, she asked, "What's got him more excited than us? He's just Sonia's boss, right? Why is he so worried about her? Are bosses really that caring these days?"
“Probably just a corporate strategy," Aziel replied, still upset from before. "Sonia's such a capable employee. He's probably just pretending to care so that he can keep exploiting her."
“Do you really think so?" Sarah asked, leaning closer to Aziel with a playful grin. "I think it's not that simple."
She speculated further, saying, "Look at Maxwell. Since Sonia's accident, he's been here every day, more on time than a clock. He even signed the critical condition notice and brought gifts. Now that Sonia's awake, he's super excited. Could there be more going on between him and Sonia?"
Aziel replied, “Even if there's anything, it's probably Maxwell's one-sided fantasy. Sonia might not like him."
Sarah nodded. "You're probably right. If Sonia liked Maxwell, she would make it obvious. Besides, Sonia's into a different type of guys, more like those movie stars."
