Chapter: 2004
It's over.

That was the thought that crossed Ariana's mind; she feared she was about to become just another subject in the man's experiments.

Considering the severed limbs and body parts scattered around, his experiments appeared to be horrifying.

She almost wished she had let the wolves catch her earlier.

Feeling completely hopeless, Ariana steeled herself for what was to come. Meanwhile, Bennett was making his way deeper into the jungle.

He glanced at his watch, reasoning that Ariana wouldn't die so quickly, so there was no need to hurry.

He had always seen Ariana as intelligent, yet here she was, captured by that lunatic.

Bennett regretted his decisions earlier; it would have spared him the current ordeal of hastening through the mountains.

Despite knowing that something bad couldn't happen to Ariana this fast, he quickened his steps.

His own sense of urgency took him by surprise, and he came to a sudden halt.

He was definitely not concerned about Ariana's safety!

In his mind, Bennett convinced himself that he simply didn't want to lose such an entertaining ‘toy’.

With his abilities, he could have any ‘toy' he desired, but Ariana had been uniquely amusing. It would indeed be a pity if she were to die and he never found someone like her again.

Moreover, the jungle's exit was located near the metal house; he had to pass it on his way out anyway. He figured he might as well head there sooner to reclaim his 'toy' from that weird scientist.

Bennett attempted to steady his nerves, reassuring himself of his motives.

Absorbed in his thoughts, he was abruptly jolted by the sensation of a palm strike heading his way.

Bennett quickly sidestepped, turning just in time to identify the attacker.

To his astonishment, it was Holden, appearing as disheveled as him.

Holden's clothing was shredded, and he bore several scrapes, though none seemed severe.

He even appeared slightly more robust than him.
