Chapter: 1015
Just then, Francis came up to Maria with a sullen face.
“Sorry for interrupting, but can you perhaps do the makeup for your stunt double, Maria?"
His expression turned gloomier with every word he spoke.
“I've already fired Liza. We will get you another makeup artist later. But now..."
Maria craned her neck and glanced at the woman standing behind Francis. She was wearing the same costume as her
“So, I have a stunt double?" Maria asked curiously. She had no idea that they had prepared one for her
Nonetheless, she noticed that the other woman was beautiful, and had a rather nice demeanor. Her eyes were eager as they focused on Maria.
"It's so great to meet you, Maria! I'm a big fan of yours!" The stand-in practically shrieked.
She was a fan, all right.
Francis managed a helpless smile.
“Her name is Myah. She is still a college student, and is particularly good at gymnastics and traditional martial arts. In addition, she's also an experienced stunt woman who has been taking part-time gigs."
Maria glanced down and took note of the Myah's footwear. The girl had clearly opted for sneakers to aid her better in her stunt performances
The shoes themselves were worn out, and stitches were visible even from where Maria stood. It led her to presume that Myah came from a poor background.
Maria made the decision right there and then that she would not be doing the stunts herself but instead left them to Myah. The girl needed this job.
“Doing stunts is a dangerous job," she said, nodding.
“Make sure you take care of yourself and secure your equipment well. Come to the dressing room with me. I'll help you with the makeup."
Myah heaved a sigh of relief.
In the last two years, she had worked as a stunt double in various crews and set. She was well aware of the strange dynamics and idiosyncrasies that existed among the people in this kind of environment .
In all that time, she had never been catered to by senior makeup artists, mainly owing to the fact that she was a mere double. But now, the heroine herself was willing to apply her makeup.
Myah was floating in a cloud of shock and joy. This only affirmed her belief that Maria was a good person, who deserved to be admired not only for her beauty and skills, but for her kindness as well.
The shoot commenced soon enough. In the first scene they shot, Maria's character was going to meet a prince, a supporting character played by Jay.
The prince held great influence over the court, and was suspected by the emperor.
The heroine was supposed to help him solve some troubles, and in return, the prince would have to promise to save her father, who was already in trouble.
The scene was rife with action sequences, and many assassin characters were involved.
