Chapter: 1025
Sophie rolled her eyes when she heard this.
“Anthony, have you noticed that my house is directly opposite yours? You can come over and talk to me rather than video call me.
Furthermore, Maria's heart problem is more acute than her narcolepsy. Our first generation hibernation pod is not yet equipped to deal with that."
Having said that, Sophie snapped her fingers indicating a need for more funding.
“We can upgrade the hibernation pod and add more functions. But that requires huge funding."
“I know." Anthony continued, “I can easily offer you the financial support you require. But the question is, can you upgrade the hibernation pod immediately?"
Anthony's question deflated Sophie. She replied despondently, “I can't! Scientific research requires both manpower and financial resources. As well as time."
“How Long will it take?" Anthony asked curiously.
Sophie was completely hapless.
“Mr. Wilson, my Grandpa and I and a few other top researchers from the No. 1 Research Institute, we are all trying our best!"
Sophie's worthless answer dissatisfied Anthony. He retorted, "Is your so-called trying your best including spending half of your time being Maria's agent and urging her to make more money?"
Sophie's face darkened and she swore silently under her breath. After a long drawn silence, she said, "Maria is not the only one sick here, alright? I'm also a patient! I..."
“Sorry. I was just so worried." Anthony apologized before Sophie could complete her sentence.
"ALL things considered, we will definitely succeed if my research institute and No. 1 Research Institute work together!"
Then Sophie promptly hung up the phone.
Meanwhile, at Sophie's residence, she was seething.
Her face turned green with envy.
She said to herself, “How did Maria hook up with such a handsome, loving guy like Anthony?
I also want someone Like Anthony to Love me to death!"
Sophie Lived in an ostensible villa. Inside this enormous villa, each floor and room had high-end equipment and devices installed.
The only thing that gave away that Sophie Lived here was the single bed on which was heaped quilts, pillows, clothes and socks.
Sophie was wearing a white Lab coat and a thick pair of black-frame glasses. Her hair was tied up to a ponytail.
She was naturally very pretty but her clothes today were plain and didn't bring out the best in her.
Sophie hung up the phone and returned to the Laboratory. She continued running her experiments on the high-end equipment and looking at the data analysis.
