The soft hum of the machinery permeated the still air.

Maria looked calm as Anthony was holding her hand.

But in reality, she was only pretending to be calm.

She was so overwhelmed by excitement and nervousness that she could even hear her heartbeat.

She felt so shy that she couldn't control herself.

Her heart beat rapidly like a train rushing through a tunnel.

“What's preoccupying your mind? Anthony asked Maria earnestly. Anthony's words jolted Maria into the present and she realized that she had been standing in front of the hibernation pod for a Long time.

“It's not my fault at all! It's all her fault..."

Maria blurted out, whilst pointing at her chest.

On hearing this, Anthony looked at her chest area.

He looked at the scar under her neck. It seemed to have healed after being severely bruised.

“Who is she?" Anthony continued to inquire.

Maria whispered, "She is Julie's daughter."

Anthony maintained his impeccably perfect smile on his handsome face. However, deep in his soulful eyes, there was an iota of pity.

They didn't speak further. Maria lay quietly in the pod. As the wall closed, she gradually fell asleep.

Anthony didn't leave immediately. He chose to stand still and stare at the sleeping Maria for a long time.

His glistening eyes exuded pity for Maria. But more importantly, those lively eyes were filled with immense Love for Maria.

A few minutes later, he quietly turned around and headed for the study. He then turned on the computer.

Then he made a video call.

The person he connected to was Sophie; a beautiful girl who now also happened to be their new neighbor.

“Sophie, the treatment function of the hibernation pod you mentioned induces narcolepsy. But improvements have to be made to cure heart problems."
