Chapter: 1116
“I admit that I was an avid fan of Shera, but now, I'm more fond of Maria."
They were still trying to wrap their heads around these revelations when a barrage of comments suddenly appeared.
“We have been fans of Maria since day one!"
“We are long-time supporters of Yeez Team!"
“Let us lay it all out for you guys so that you can understand."
Their timing was perfect, and their remarks were organized in such a way that they immediately caught the viewers’ attention.
“Firstly, Darren was heard calling Maria ‘Master M' during an exhibition game. She totally dominated that activity, by the way. She carried the entire team. The others wouldn't have gotten anywhere without her."
“Secondly, Maria is actually a five-star badge writer from the Writers’ Association. You guys know what that means, right? Although her pseudonym hasn't been revealed to the public, there can be no doubts about her literary prowess!"
“Thirdly, it's rather common for the veterans in the show business to be especially hard on newcomers. It is therefore no surprise that the three permanent cast members were unfriendly toward Maria. But you see, she is no ordinary newbie. Check out the tweets from big shots Like Jay, Francis, and Lyndsey. Every time Maria publishes a tweet, they would like and repost it.”
Meanwhile, in a room at the production team's headquarters, the director and assistant director of "My College Life" were huddled together with Shera, Beuford, and Lyman.
They glanced at each other, their faces twisted in similar expressions of mortification and dread.
Their phones were all on the table, the screens displaying the same trending headline:
“Broadcast of 'My College Life' under cyberattack? Unknown hacker took over the studio and released the show's uncensored version!"
It was Lyman who broke the long, tense silence.
“Director, he mumbled. "Is it... Is it too late for us to apologize now?"
When the latter comments appeared, he had wasted no time checking the top celebrities' Twitter profiles. Sure enough, they seemed to be on good terms with Maria.
“I thought she was just some nobody from Yeez Entertainment," Beuford said, his mouth set in a hard line.
“How could we have known that she was not?! I don't think even Lyndsey, who is an A-Lister from Yeez Entertainment, mind you, can create this much buzz."
“What should we do, huh?" Shera cried out, tears already pooling in her eyes. "What are we supposed to do now?"
If she had known that things would end up like this, she would have insisted on carrying Maria's bags herself on the first day of the shoot!
The assistant director suddenly perked up as a thought occurred to him.
“Director, should we broadcast the edited version of the second part tomorrow?"
“Should we do that?" the director asked himself.
His mind was in total chaos, and he struggled to work out a coherent plan. "Well," he muttered after a while.
