Chapter: 1138
Several judges began to nod their heads in agreement with Elma's argument.
They had no idea about Judy's ability so they agreed with her point. Rylee and Hanna frowned when they heard this.
They didn't agree but they didn't know how to refute Elma's argument either.
Rylee, in particular, didn't dare utter a word. She was the prime suspect after all. Anything she said, could be used against her.
“Humph!* Elma noticed that everyone in the room seemed to agree with her and she felt smug inside.
"No, you're wrong!" Maria, Sophie, and Francis all objected in one voice.
“What? What do you mean?"
Elma's face darkened.
The trio looked at each other. Finally, Maria stepped forward to speak up for them. "Your singing skills are indeed slightly better than Rylee and Hanna but you're not as good as Judy!"
“You... How dare you suggest such a thing? Do you really think I'm not as good as someone just starting out in the industry?" Elma retorted. She seemed to tremble out of anger.
However, she was only hiding her nerves.
Maria said flatly, “I do think you're not as good as Judy, I‘m sorry. You are inferior to her in basic vocal skills, your natural voice, musicality, and all. I understand that you're a decorated industry veteran but if you listened to Judy sing once, you'd know I'm telling the truth.”
“No, I won't bother. I don't want to waste my time! I. I don't care at all how well she sings! She's just a new arrival to me,"
Elma blurted out in panic.
She knew very well what Judy sounded like. Judy had sung a song for the second season of the fantasy TV show, ‘Legend of Anne’. She'd been Listening to it on a loop!
“Have you never heard her sing? Then how will you explain this?"
Maria brought out her phone and quickly brought up Elma's Twitter profile.
She showed Elma a particular post updated a month ago when Elma herself had performed a cover of ‘Embrace the Moon’ from ‘Legend of Anne‘.
It had drawn a decent amount of attention online. And the original singer of ‘Embrace the Moon’ was Judy.
"You... How dare you?" It was certainly a hard slap in the face. Elma was speechless. Anger flashed across her stricken face.
Just then, Hanna worked up the nerve to speak up.
“In fact, I've also heard Judy sing. When I saw her here today, I felt that I would not stand a chance because she is so good. We all are professional singers. It shouldn't be hard for us to tell that Judy is the most competitive singer among all of us!"
When Elma heard Hanna make the acknowledgment that Judy was doing better in singing than her, she clenched her fists.
How she wished that she could just leave the place and leave the mess behind!
