Chapter: 115
The shooting of Legend of Anne was going smoothly. However, a rumor was gradually spreading among the cast and crew.

People began saying how Maria was not really talented or competent as the acting chief director. She was just Mr. Jackson's mouthpiece.

Undoubtedly, it was Vivian who started the rumor.

The rumor spread like wildfire and soon everyone more or less heard of it. Initially, only the extras and the actors in supporting roles were talking about it, until one day later, it reached Jay's ears.

He had been reading the twelfth scene in the Legend of Anne screenplay, and they had been preparing to start shooting soon.

"Mr. Reed, may I take a moment of your time?" A gentle woman's voice interrupted his reading.

Jay shifted his eyes from the script to the woman and found that it was Patricia.

Patricia was in her gorgeous costume. It was true that she was a middle-aged woman, but she still looked graceful and was a genuine beauty.

“Hello, Miss Hughes." Jay nodded and greeted her flatly.

“What's up?" Patricia felt a tad annoyed upon seeing how indifferent Jay appeared. She was aware that she was no longer young, and that it was mostly impossible for Jay to feel anything for her. However, his indifference still hurt.

“Well, Mr. Reed, do you know when Mr. Jackson will be discharged from the hospital?" Patricia asked.

Jay thought about it and said carefully, "I heard that he has relapsed and gotten another allergy attack. The doctor then suggested him to stay in the hospital for a few more days."

Patricia nodded and pretended to be worried when she heard this.

“Well, the crew seems to have lost their mainstay because Mr. Jackson is not here with us. There haven't been any issues with shooting, but really, how long can we rely on this temporary fix?"

Jay knew what she was insinuating beneath that sweet, innocent exterior. He simply said, "Miss Hughes. If there's anything you want to say, please just be direct. Don't beat about the bush."

Patricia smiled and continued, "Maria has been holding on to the job thanks to Mr. Jackson's guidance before he's gone. But I don't think it can last. I sense that the shooting will be forced to come to a stop in a day or two. We need a real director."

A strange look flashed across Jay's eyes.

He had heard of a similar rumor. Although this rumor was not verified, it could explain Maria's outstanding performance over the Last couple of days.

"So what's your plan?" asked Jay. Patricia smiled coldly.

“Austin Gerry, the vice president of the Sheffield Film and Television Association. You must know him, right?"
