Chapter: 1180
Now that the film “Song of Phoenix" was proven to be a plagiarism, the Smiths just had to stop filming it. Boden couldn't and wouldn't do anything to save it. The novel was literally stolen work.
After making up his mind, Boden looked at Patricia and said, "The deed has been done already and the whole world seems to be aware of it. The best solution here is for us to stop the filming immediately and cancel the project. I also think that you should issue an apology. At Least this way, we can salvage some reputation."
‘ancel the project?"
“Issue an apology?"
“Hell no! You must be crazy!" Patricia, Bill, and Vivian spoke up at the same time, looking at Boden as though he had lost his mind.
“We have invested too much money in this movie to just up and stop it!" Bill added seriously.
“This is my first movie ever. I can't just quit!" Vivian also said stubbornly.
Patricia was much calmer. She smiled sarcastically at Boden and said “Boden, surely it hasn't gotten to this point. There has to be something else we can do. In any case, just know that stopping the filming is out of the question.”
Boden blinked at all of them in surprise.
After being in this business for such a long time, he could imagine what was running through their minds.
The only reason why he trusted them at the beginning of this was because they were relatives.
They all knew that Song of Phoenix was plagiarized work, yet they were still ready to drench the Smiths in this mess.
Boden couldn't believe that he had been fooled. These three people weren't good, decent people as he had thought them to be. They were like gamblers, addicted to money.
Boden sighed and shook his head.
If the Smiths were now the top wealthy businessmen, it was because they had astute business savviness and vision. The most essential thing that a businessman ought to have, was virtue and a sense of morality.
But these ones, they were extortionists, ready to do anything, no matter how despicable, as long as they got their money at the end of it. Real rich and powerful families would never stoop so Low.
That was when Boden realized that he and these three people seated with him would never think the same way.
Sadly, he was just an important investor in this project, and didn't have the final say in it.
If Patricia and Bill wanted the filming to go on, then it would, regardless of what he said.
“Mom, what should we do?" Vivian turned to Patricia.
Boden's nose twitched when he heard this. He felt a little uncomfortable and confused.
Vivian was only tied to the Smiths because she was Julie's daughter. If that hadn't been the case, they would not have invested so much in the Hughes Group.
So, hearing Vivian call another woman "mom" so affectionately in front of him unsettled Boden greatly.
Patricia was quite observant.
