Chapter: 1226
The old lady must have a plan in mind that she had not yet do anything.

Doris wiped the cold sweat forming on her brows, wondering if Maria was plotting against her in this matter.

She was so close from spilling the beans and ruining the matriarch's plan!

After all, only those who pass the talent test were eligible to stay in the Jenkins family. Those who remain here were the ones who could truly come back to the family, where they could determine their status, their position in the genealogy, and most importantly, establish their closeness to the matriarch.

One look from the old lady, Doris immediately understood what she was trying to say.

“Now that you have already met with her Ladyship, Let's not disturb her peace. Now, let's have your talent tested!"

"Understood!" everyone shouted at the same time.

Standing in the centre of the small square, was a stone tablet.

The group went closer to it and found that it wasn't just an ordinary stone, but a black crystal that was about ten feet tall.

“This is the Oracle Stone," Doris said in a powerful voice, looking at them. "The stone can test your talents. ALL you have to do, is press your hand against it. If it glitters, that would mean you have certain talents for practicing ancient martial arts. It won't determine the extent or level of your powers though. That part will require further data analysis."

Curious and excited, everyone Leaned in to observe the crystal. Looking closely at it, they saw that its base was some sort of equipment made of pure metal.

The stone was like a charger inserted into a socket which in this case, was the base.

It was obvious that there were some wires connected to the metal base underneath. These wires then transmitted the data of the tests to professional equipments inside the manor for analysis.

“Okay. We're going to begin with the tests now!" Doris said, clapping her hands and calling them to order. When they were all quiet, she ordered all those that were eligible to take the test to come up one after the other.

“Avianna," Doris called the first name.

The girl walked nervously and stood in front of the Oracle Stone, took a few deep breaths before putting her palm against the crystal.

Ten seconds had passed and nothing was happening. Avianna was beginning to get scared when the stone finally Lit up a little.

"Good." Doris gave a curt nod.

“Please move to my right."

Avianna let out the breath she was holding. What mattered right now was that she had passed the test. She would worry about her level Later on.

Under the envious gazes of everyone, Avianna stepped to Doris' right side with flushed cheeks and a beautiful smile.

“Next, Garfield!"

Aman in his twenties immediately stepped forward and slammed his palm against the Oracle Stone with confidence.

Tick...Tick... Time seemed to go by really slowly.
