Chapter: 1231
“Why? Am I not good enough to be your friend? Is that why you're turning me down?" Shaun asked furiously, obviously offended.
He had always prided himself as a young man with great talent.
He schooled in a rather famous university and was the vice president of the Students’ Union and the main force of the basketball team of the school.
Yes, Shaun was pretty proud of his accomplishments as a college student.
In fact, when he thought about it, he didn't think there was much difference between Maria and him.
“I didn't say that. As people from the same clan, I think it's a bit ridiculous to make friends with each other. After all, we're all family," Maria explained casually.
Upon hearing this, the others echoed their agreement.
Maria was right.
Once their names were recorded in the family tree, they would know how to address each other.
It would be strange if they made friends now and ended up not being in the same grade once the result was announced.
Shaun withdrew his hand, embarrassed and annoyed, but he hid it quite well.
However, after what just happened, the others seemed to understand that the same thing would happen to them.
Making friends with the person that had brought about the most outstanding and impressive light from the Oracle Stone, wouldn't be easy.
That much was clear. So, they turned to the next best person, Vivian. The light that shone when she touched the stone was equally brighter than that of the others.
When a few of them greeted her, Vivian returned their greetings politely despite knowing why they were there. They only wanted to flatter her and get on her good graces.
Vivian just played along for now because she was still weak in the family, and might need them at some point.
With this in mind, Vivian acted just like she had done in the entertainment circle to be liked. She started praising Shaun and the others.
Naturally, they were happy that she was more welcoming than Maria who was once again excluded from the group.
Meanwhile, somewhere in the Jenkins mansion.
“Ma'am, is this result authentic?"
Doris’ voice shook lightly as her lips quivered. The result of the talent test both surprised and scared her.
Doris looked at all the grades on the paper and read outloud, "Shaun, Grade One."
“Jeffry, Grade Two."
“Avianna, Grade Four."
