Chapter: 1230
Those who failed turned to their friends who had succeeded for help, but they were all ignored.

The winners didn't want to mix themselves with the losers anymore. After all, they were now noble members of the Jenkins family in Broome. On her side, Maria seemed to be bored. She yawned and tried her best not to fall asleep.

While those that failed the test were sent away, Doris asked the others to wait by the Oracle Stone. She was going to go and get the test report that would show everyone's grade.

They all nodded and then, found a spot to sit after Doris left.

ALL ten of them were lost in their own thoughts. Some hoped that their grades would be higher than the others, while others wanted to make friends with those that would have higher grades.

They were all almost certain that those with the highest grades would be Maria, Vivian and Avianna, since their Lights were the brightest. Naturally, every other person wanted to be friends with them.

The person they were even more envious of, was Maria. The way the Oracle Stone lit up when she touched it was out of this world. It was phenomenal .

It was true that Doris said it didn't mean anything, but how could it possibly mean nothing?

“Maria?” A handsome and confident boy strode over and held out his hand for Maria.

“My name is Shaun. Nice to meet you. I'm a junior student of Central University, in the Science of Mathematics College.

I'm also the vice president of the Students’ Union.”

Shaun was still quite confident despite knowing how famous and powerful Maria was. Not only in the literary and entertainment world, but in other domains too.

He wasn't just any student in the campus. He was very popular among the female students. Girls from all levels chased after him-- from freshmen to Ph.D. students.

Shaun was one of those that refused to help Maria on their way here, but he had no problem trying to make friends with her now. It wouldn't hurt, would it?

So, he continued bragging, “I‘m also the main guard of the basketball team of the school, and I often post articles in our school magazines..."

Suddenly, Maria covered her mouth with a hand as she yawned.

Shaun stiffened, his hand that was moving animatedly stopping mid-air No. It wasn't possible. Had he been talking to himself all this while? “Uh... Sorry. Are you talking to me?"

Maria asked Shaun, studying him. There wasn't much of a_height difference between him and her.

Just like that, she thought of Anthony. She would have loved it if Anthony was just a little bit shorter too. Her neck hurt everytime she had to look up at him.

“Actually, yes," he answered in embarrassment. "Would you Like to be friends with me?"

Shaun looked past the embarrassment he was feeling and still did what he had wanted to do in the first place.

“Be friends with you? I think I'll pass. Thanks though," Maria answered with furrowed eyebrows.

She wasn't a person to hold grudges over little trifles, and honestly, she had already Let go of what happened on their way here.

So, her answer wasn't influenced by any other reason but for the fact that she had rules when making friends with people.
