Chapter: 1243
Just like Maria had expected, just a day had gone by since and the security guards couldn't stop talking about her.
“Miss Maria is not talented like the others, but she is very rich. Atticus earned the totality of his monthly salary after doing a simple task for her.”
“I did some research online and I couldn't believe how popular she is. She is the heroine of a popular movie, Female Military Counsellor, a strong contender for the international best actress of the year, and a five-star member of the Writer's Association."
“I'm sure you've heard of the famous writer, Mia, right? Mia is just her pen name. Mia is actually Maria. She already has fame and fortune.
What more does she need?" After a short while, someone voiced out something they were all thinking. "Why don't we work for Miss Maria?
I bet things would work out great for us if we do.”
A few days had passed. In a room of the Lemna Yard, there was a dark stone located on the small round table.
The palm-sized stone was as clear as glass. Anyone who looked at it would see their own reflection.
“Miss Maria, is this the Oracle Stone?" Isla exclaimed in surprise.
“Put your hand on it," Maria told her.
ALL of a sudden, Isla's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of their sockets.
She nervously followed Maria's order and placed her right hand on the Oracle Stone.
A few seconds later, a soft Light began to emanate from the Oracle Stone.
For a second, Isla's brain stopped functioning. She even forgot what it meant to Light up the Oracle Stone.
Her eyes were blank as she stared directly into the Light. During that moment, she felt as if she were looking at a shiny piece of cotton candy.
“Good! You are indeed talented," Maria complimented. Her voice was as calm as a still lake. "You're on Grade Six
From the sound of it, it seemed that being on the sixth grade of the ancient martial arts talent was far from enough to shock Maria.
Maria was perfectly relaxed while Isla was perplexed.
She opened her mouth, but no words came out of it. For a while, she was silent before she stuttered. "I... I've got talents for martial arts? And my talent is on Grade Six?"
Since she had worked for the Jenkins family for more than a decade, she knew how rare the talent of the grade six was.
Although the ninth grade was the best, Isla had heard that in the past thirty years, not a single person who possessed the talent of the grade seven had appeared in the Jenkins family.
Then, during the past ten years, there were less than five new members who were categorized in the sixth grade.
Because the clan had no powerful martial arts talents, the matriarch had recently called her clansmen back on a regular basis. Otherwise, it would've been impossible.
“I've just written a book entitled An Introduction to Ancient Martial Arts. You can read it and practice by yourself. Don't worry. What I've written there is very easy to understand.”
