Chapter: 1251
Their distinguished guest?
Jack Blake?
"No, no, no," Vivian shook her head frantically. "This can't be." It was probably just a coincidence.
How could a mere chauffeur be a prominent member of the Sky Group, so much so that Mrs. Jenkins had insisted on greeting him herself?
Vivian pondered the possibility, but eventually convinced herself that it was simply a coincidence. But she was a cautious person, and she knew well enough to tread carefully.
She turned to the nearest person to her and asked, "Mr. Gonzales, is Mr. Blake also a cultivator of the ancient martial arts? Do you have any idea what level he is?"
The man's face brightened at the question, and he Looked more than happy to supply the answer.
"Mr. Blake's level?" he repeated in a merry tone, as though he was talking about his own achievements. "Oh, I'm not sure that you would believe me if I told you! Do you know Cyril? He is an excellent cultivator, and he is among the top ones on the first Level. In fact, he is expected to break through to the second level in less than a year."
"Yes, I have heard of him," Vivian said wryly. She didn't have the patience to deal with Mr. Gonzales’ rambling, and wished that he would just get straight to the point. Still, she had an image to uphold, so she had no choice but to bite her tongue.
Mr. Gonzales, on the other hand, was getting more and more earnest with his story. He was already gesticulating with his hands as he continued, “Well, Mr. Blake is, at the very least, a third-Level warrior. You can pit ten cultivators Like Cyril against him, and he would beat them all! What's even more amazing is that he is younger than Cyril!"
Mr. Gonzales paused to nod in admiration, his eyes twinkling. "That Mr. Blake has a promising future, indeed!"
Vivian was stunned. An individual who was far more powerful than Cyril?
This new development was something that was beyond her wildest imagination.
Before Vivian could respond, the butler added in a low voice, "Miss Vivian, Mrs. Jenkins also asked me to tell you something else."
“Go ahead. I'm all ears!"
Vivian's eyes lit up instantly, and she could barely contain her enthusiasm.
Satisfied with her reaction, the butler nodded and said, "Mrs. Jenkins said that as far as she knows, Mr. Blake is a bachelor. If we can find an eligible young lady in the Jenkins family to marry him, then that lady will receive the full support of the family and the best training possible. Did you understand, Miss Vivian?"
When Vivian heard these words, her heart thumped against her chest.
If Vivian got married to this mysterious Mr. Blake, she would be helping the Jenkins family form an alliance with the Blake family.
And the truth was, unlike most people, she did not dislike the idea of a marriage of convenience. On the contrary, she looked forward to it.
Ever since Maria had gotten engaged to Anthony, her life had changed completely. She had gone from being a plain country bumpkin to a strong woman who Looked more and more formidable every time Vivian encountered her.
What gave Maria the confidence to act as if she was superior to everyone else?
It was because she had the support of Anthony as well as the Wilson family, of course.
Without such a powerful family backing her, Maria would have still been living in a small village as an anonymous writer of an online piece of literature that had barely left a mark. She definitely would not have broken into the entertainment industry and thrived so well there.
