Chapter: 1252
"Mr. Gonzales, please tell Mrs. Jenkins to rest assured," Vivian said, taking a deep breath.
“I understand."
The butler faltered for a moment before quickly hiding his surprise. In fact, he had thought that it would be almost impossible to persuade Vivian to please a strange man. Now that Vivian was being so cooperative, it made his job easier.
“Excellent. You're such a wise woman, Miss Vivian." After flattering her with a smile, the butler turned around and led the way.
Vivian followed him to the matriarch's residence, the most luxurious place in the whole family estate.
Meanwhile, Jack had taken a seat in the hall and was about to directly start discussing business with Mrs. Jenkins.
But no sooner had he opened his mouth than Mrs. Jenkins said, "Mr. Blake, thank you for coming all the way here. Allow me to show you some hospitality on behalf of the Jenkins family. We can talk business later."
Mrs. Jenkins' plan was very simple.
As long as she could find a woman to please Jack, the cooperation between the Jenkins family and the Sky Group would go much more smoothly.
“Sure, I will do as the Romans do," Jack said politely, sliding back into his seat.
Doris clapped her hands once, signaling to the servants to enter the hall with a great variety of delicacies.
The table in front of Jack was soon lined with mouthwatering dishes and several bottles of expensive wine.
When the servants retreated, a group of beautiful women began to play some folk instruments in an open outdoor space that could be viewed from the hall.
These women had been specially trained by the Jenkins family from a young age to play all kinds of traditional music.
While Mrs. Jenkins dined with Jack, the beautiful music continued to play, creating a warm atmosphere.
As they ate, Mrs. Jenkins quietly observed Jack's expression. He did not seem to be interested in any of the female musicians, which confirmed her assumption about him.
There was no way that a representative sent by the Sky Group would be interested in ordinary women. Vivian used to be a pop star in the entertainment industry. Even if she wasn't that talented, her identity as a pop star alone was enough to satisfy the vanity of many men.
With that thoughts, Mrs. Jenkins raised her head and discreetly winked at the butler to give him a silent instruction.
The group of musicians who turned out to be useless to Mrs. Jenkins’ plan quickly dispersed, and a small podium was set up in that space with a microphone standing at the center.
“What's next? Is there going to be a stand-up comedian?" Jack asked expectantly.
The smile on Mrs. Jenkins' face froze, and she awkwardly replied,
“Well, it's going to be a musical performance."
Looking at Jack's reaction, she couldn't help but doubt her instincts. Had she made the wrong arrangements for the performance? Would it be better to find a stand-up comedian to replace Vivian?
Jack was not an avid listener of music.
