Chapter: 1259
Isla's head buzzed as she struggled to keep up with all this new knowledge. She even started to doubt her sanity.

Was she under some illusion, perhaps?

Was the conversation between Maria and Jack something she had imagined? Or maybe this was all a dream. Maybe she was still fast asleep and conjuring impossible things in her mind.

Whenever the Jenkins family conducted an assessment of their members’ cultivation, two separate reports were made eventually.

The first one was issued on the same day as the assessment, detailing the practitioner's Level on specific skills.

The second report would come out several days later, as it called for a more meticulous evaluation to determine the specific field the member was suitable for.

The ancient martial arts were classified into different fields that focused on their respective specialties.

From the most basic to the most significant, these fields were physical combat, spiritual strength, weaponry, healing and restoration, and alchemy.

Those who were assigned to physical combat were excellent fighters who usually served as bodyguards or ruffians, depending on the task they were given.

People who had an aptitude for alchemy were the rarest in the world of martial arts, which wasn't surprising, as they had to be extremely knowledgeable and dexterous. In most cases, they were the only ones in their clan who were able to understand ancient formulae and recreate it into pills that helped further one's cultivation.

Much like medical experts, martial alchemists were regarded highly among ancient families.

After all, they produced a key element essential to cultivation, which, if used wisely, could also become a source of income for the clan and secure their foothold in society.

Twenty years ago, the Jenkins family had the good fortune of having two senior pill alchemists among their ranks, who could easily create fifth grade magical pills.

At the time, the Jenkins family was at the top of the pyramid, and lorded over the world of martial art.

But now, they only had one, and a third-level at that. He didn't even carry the Jenkins name.

Still, he was well-respected and well-compensated. The pills he produced were considered the most valuable product of the family, and the profits it yielded became their primary source of income.

That was not to say that the Jenkins family still enjoyed the glory they used to have two decades ago. While having an alchemist was considered a stroke of good fortune, having a third-level one wasn't exactly something to be proud of.

“Madam, this... Are these reports accurate?" Doris stared at the documents in front of her. They were the more detailed reports for the assessment.

Doris’ eyes fixed on the results printed on the top pages. These two people were confirmed to be qualified alchemists!

Those two... Vivian Jenkins and Maria Jenkins!

“Madam, if we successfully train Miss Maria and Miss Vivian as alchemists, honor and glory will finally be restored to the Jenkins family!" Doris was brimming with excitement.

“Two pill alchemists!" she muttered absentmindedly.

“Oh, there's Mr. Acosta, too, so our family will have three in total!"

Elton Acosta was a third level alchemist, and currently the only one the Jenkins family had.
