Chapter: 1277
Mrs. Jenkins knew this, but she didn't reject Patricia's request. As a matter of fact, she sounded proud as she said, “Well, I can see how much you care for Maria, even though she isn't you own. I can't say no to you, can I? So yes, I will approve this marriage."
Mrs. Jenkins then looked at the butler, Mr. Gonzales and said, "Get Elton's and Maria's birth dates, check if they match for a good marriage and select a good date for the wedding ceremony. It's been so long since we had a wedding to celebrate in the clan. I will personally break this news to them."
“Yes, Mrs. Jenkins. You are without doubt the most loving grandmother in this world!" Mr. Gonzales praised with a smile. If it was something that brought Maria pain, he was all for it.
Patricia was equally smiling, thrilled that things were going her way. As the most influential person of the Jenkins family, if Mrs. Jenkins personally proposed this marriage, Maria and Anthony would have to break up, and the insolent young girl would have no choice but to wed Elton, the fat, despicable middle-aged man.
Meanwhile, Anthony just left the Lemna Yard.
He came to the Jenkins family for two reasons. First, to bring the hibernation pod for Maria, and second, to see his fiancee that he hadn't seen for a while.
“Miss Maria, is Mr. Wilson your boyfriend?"
Isla looked at Maria curiously as they practiced in the yard.
“How Long have you known him? He is so handsome. I'm sure you like him very much, right?" Isla gushed and went on curiously, “Did you court him first, or did he do the chasing?"
Maybe it was because they spent every moment together, and unlike the other members of the family, Maria wasn't arrogant, Isla actually became good friends with her.
Maria wasn't actually listening to Isla, but the maid's continuous questions brought her back to reality.
"Isla, focus, will you? We've been at this for days now and you still haven't reached level one of the ancient martial arts. I'm beginning to wonder if you're taking this seriously."
Maria broke a branch and smashed it on the ground, instantly creating a crack in the soil.
Isla was impressed and scared at the same time. A cold chill went through her body as she stared at the crack.
She immediately adjusted her position and gave her full attention to the practice.
She was still a Little confused though. It had just been a few days since she started practicing martial arts. It would make no sense if she actually reached Level one of the ancient martial arts.
As far as she knew, and she sure knew a lot, the members of the Jenkins family usually took three to five years of practice to reach that level.
Isla was trying to understand this when she noticed a bald strong man walking towards the Lemna Yard with a big smile.
She narrowed her eyes at the man. He certainly didn't look Like a good person, and that overly bright smile made him all the more suspicious. Isla furrowed her eyebrows and stared until he stopped in front of Maria.
“Hello, Aunt Maria. I applied to be one of the security guards, and guess what... I got in!
Great, right?"
Grover really made it! And so fast!
With his strength, passing the security guard test of the Jenkins family was a piece of cake.
He had actually planned to bribe the captain of the security team to let him work in Lemna Yard so he could protect Maria.
