Chapter: 1278
However, he didn't have to do that as Mr. Gonzales suddenly sent a message stating that the matriarch wanted Miss Maria to have a powerful guard, although her Level was the lowest.

Mr. Gonzales didn't say why this was suddenly happening, and although Grover was curious, he had no right to ask as the newcomer.

All the guards were a little hesitant to follow this order. They all knew that Miss Maria had the lowest grade and was disliked by her family.

As such, they let the task fall on the newcomer, Grover, who they thought knew nothing of the happenings in the Jenkins family.

“Aunt Maria, I'm glad that I can continue serving you," Grover added with a flattering smile.

“Remember where we are, Grover. You should be careful and call me Miss Maria as everyone does.”

“Of course, Miss Maria. I'll keep that in mind." Grover nodded rapidly, making a mental note in his mind.

The truth was that it was indeed a Little embarrassing for him to call her aunt, especially in the presence of other people. It was clear as day that he was much older than her.

It was only after this that Grover noticed the thin young woman staring at him with a pair of big doe eyes.

“Miss Maria? Who is this little girlie?" he asked slowly.

After being malnourished for years, Isla looked a few years younger than her actual age. Grover couldn't be faulted for calling her the way he did.

“My name is Isl with his remark.

Isla said with puffed up cheeks, obviously not happy am Miss Maria's servant, assigned to her by the clan."

"Oh, so you're serving her too. Great! Since I was here first, you are below me and have to Listen to me from now on."

She strutted to the corner of the room, picked up a broom and held it out for Grover.

“Go and sweep the yard!" Grover's eyes narrowed in confusion.

How could this little girlie, this thin little woman, be so annoyed and worked up all of a sudden?

Grover's lips twitched upward in amusement for a second. She sure ‘looked cute when she was angry though.

Then, he looked at Maria as though waiting for her to say something.

“Go on, Grover. Isla is practicing. I can't make her do too much work." Maria nodded curtly at him.

"Okay!" he answered more enthusiastically now that the order was coming from Maria.

He took the broom and started sweeping, making sure to catch every hidden speck in the most inconspicuous corners.

Two days went by and Lemna Yard got no visitors.

That was until Doris showed up looking all arrogant and wanting to act superior.
