Chapter: 1540
Anthony, with a smirk, told Jack, "Order takeout for Miss Herrera.
Make sure it's from a fancy restaurant."
"The takeout containers are so distasteful! I'd much rather eat at the restaurant!" Barbara's voice wavered with emotion.
Though Anthony's lips still curved into a smile, there was a chilly undertone to it.
Barbara's dress, with its plunging neckline, revealed more than just skin. A faint surgical scar drew Anthony's gaze.
"Jack, secure a reservation at an upscale restaurant for Miss Herrera.
She can go whenever she likes."
“Understood,” replied Jack without hesitation.
Barbara felt a weight pressing down on her chest.
Why? Why didn't Anthony show the least bit of interest in joining her for lunch? Could he possibly be indifferent to women?
After a moment's contemplation, Barbara mustered the courage to ask,
"So, where do you plan to have your lunch, Mr. Wilson?"
Without sparing her a glance, Anthony responded, "I'll be dining in the canteen."
In the secluded Lemna Yard, a rocking chair stood out prominently.
Reclining in it with the ease of someone enjoying their golden years, Maria's lips were upturned in a subtle smile.
"Is it true? Anthony publicly embarrassed Barbara?" Maria's voice carried the incredulity of the news.
With headphones nestled comfortably over her ears, it might have appeared that Maria was engaged in a one-sided conversation.
However, Judy, having been present at the Sky Group during the event, was on the other end, feeding Maria all the details.
“Absolutely! Anthony's restraint was impressive! He really is something."
Judy's voice faltered, sounding like her mouth was full.
Maria chuckled lightly, intuiting.
"Are you enjoying a bite?"
Amidst their conversation, the sound of Judy swallowing was unmistakably audible.
“Yes! Maria, the Sky Group's canteen serves incredible food! Anthony even suggested it to Barbara, but she turned her nose up at the offer. Such a loss!"
