Chapter: 158
“Maria, do you have two phones at the same time?"
Maria's thoughts were disrupted by a sweet and childlike voice. "Yeah, of course.”
Maria turned to the young lady who was speaking to her. It was Jenny Diaz, a scriptwriting intern on the team.
They were about the same age. Jenny, being a simple and outgoing young lady, never feared Maria because she was the chief director. She treated Maria like her friend and personally referred to her by her name rather than calling her Miss Jenkins.
“Ha-ha! I know. Obviously, you're a huge gamer. It's convenient to have two phones so that when one dies you may charge it while using the other. Should I be confident in my assumption?"
Jenny pulled out two cell phones and shook them in front of Maria before she could respond.
“I'm also set up with two phones. That's right, I'm just as intelligent as you are!"
“Wow, you really are a genius." Maria smiled and nodded gently.
Jenny found Maria to be kind and approachable. Without probing into Maria's personal Life unless Maria wanted to talk, she chatted to her about anything and everything.
As if she were a pampered kid, she grabbed Maria's arm and said, “Maria, which game are you into currently? Who knows, maybe I'll be able to pick it up, too. In the future, we may either play together or PK each other."
Maria might have temporarily suspended her work, but she never missed paying attention to Heaven's internal communications. So, naturally, she was glued to her phone for long periods of time.
She kept the phone's display hidden from Jenny. As far as the girl was concerned, it was because Maria was terrible at games.
Jenny saw that Maria didn't respond and made an assumption.
“Have you ever tried out the game Wasteland? Wasteland is now the most popular online game, and it also has a mobile version. My account was upgraded recently to the full level."
Maria was taken aback by that. She attempted to stifle her laughter after confirming that she hadn't heard it wrong.
In the backdrop of a post-apocalyptic world, the Wasteland served as a sandbox game. The maximum level was thirty.
The so-called entire level was really only the conclusion of the basic course. The actual action started after that.
Players in Wasteland had the challenge of making it through a harsh wasteland environment with limited supplies. Zombies and other mutant beasts lurked around every corner.
In a nutshell, Wasteland's storyline boiled down to a single objective: stay alive!
Jenny had just completed the first and simplest stage of this game. What gave her cause for such glee?
