Chapter: 1593
Raymond rose to his feet, assuming the role of Marilyn's defender.

"Dr. Rivera is a graduate of a prestigious international medical school and presently holds the esteemed position of a professor at Broome Medical University. She conducts expert clinics at the affiliated hospital, and her appointments are in high demand.

Numerous prominent families in Broome aspire to be associated with her..."

“Raymond, I appreciate your support," Marilyn cleverly interjected, breaking Raymond's ceaseless monologue.

She wore a gentle smile as she continued, “It's my responsibility to earn the trust of the patient's family. I acknowledge your reservations, Anthony. I'll put in my utmost effort and won't let you down."

When Marilyn affectionately talked to Anthony, Jack's eyelid twitched vigorously. He silently mused, “This woman is crossing the line. If Maria gets the wrong idea, Anthony might find himself the victim of Maria's jealousy..."

“Excuse me, Dr. Rivera, right? Please refrain from addressing me ‘Anthony. * You can call me as ‘Mr. Wilson’.

Anthony glanced at Marilyn, taking in her appearance.

"Oh, really? I actually found “Anthony! to be quite endearing. Why don't you like it?"

Marilyn playfully extended her tongue, and her typically intellectual countenance adopted a mischievous look. This charming contradiction could quicken the pulse of most men.

However, Anthony's face remained devoid of emotion.

His tone turned frigid as he added, "Because it wouldn't sit well with my girlfriend."

Marilyn's smile froze.

She had never encountered such a resolute and direct man before.

Caught off guard, she was temporarily at a loss for words.

Anthony then turned his attention to Raymond.

"Raymond, I will assume complete responsibility for Michael's condition moving forward," Anthony declared with unwavering determination. His tone brooked no argument.

Raymond expressed his discontent, saying, "This can't be. Remember, I'm currently overseeing the family's business, and you're not a doctor. What qualifications do you have to care for him?"

Anthony nodded.

“You're correct. You're handling the family business on Michael's behalf, so it's only fitting that I look after his well -being. Regarding medical professionals, you can be at ease. The doctor I've arranged is en route."

“No way! I won't agree!"

Raymond was about to protest, but Anthony interrupted him.

"If you're concerned that I won't be able to provide proper care for my grandfather, we can swap responsibilities. Starting today, I'll oversee the family business, and you can relinquish your duties and concentrate entirely on his medical care."

This was an offer Raymond couldn't bring himself to accept.
