Chapter: 1637
Luckily, Maria had been silent the whole time, staying true to her calm nature.
This brought some relief to Julie, yet it also puzzled her. Did Maria not want to know about her romantic life?
Pondering this, Julie made her way back to her room. She freshened up and headed to bed.
But as she pulled back the covers, she found Maria already snuggled up inside.
Maria's eyes twinkled with a smile.
“Mom, will you tell me about your date today?" Maria asked.
Anthony's cell phone didn't stop ringing tonight, which was quite surprising and unusual.
Maria had sent him several messages.
“Anthony, my mom had a date with Ian!"
“How long do you think it will take for them to get married?"
“Do you think my mother will have a child with Ian after they get married?"
“Considering my mom's advanced age, a pregnancy would carry many risks for both her and the unborn baby. I think we should ask Sophie to do in-depth research on elderly pregnant women."
"Come to think of it, this will give Sophie one more excuse to use my bank card. Damn it!"
Anthony patiently read all the messages from Maria. Once he was done, he didn't directly reply but waited for a while. Then, he sent a two worded message to Maria, which read, “This excited?"
As soon as Maria received Anthony's message, she immediately replied, “Yes! I'm sleeping with my mother tonight. I'm chatting with her right now, so I can only glance at my phone to type every now and then.
But rest assured. Typing messages to you is next to nothing for me.
See, not a single typing error!"
Upon reading Maria's text, Anthony felt like laughing. Did she really think he was worried about the words she sent him?
“How do you think your mother would react if I sent her a screenshot of our chats?" Anthony asked teasingly.
“What? Are you kidding me? Anthony! Aren't we on the same page?"
Maria was felt helpless.
“Well, we are on the same page. But if I were to choose between pleasing you and my future mother-in-law, I would choose the latter,"
Anthony said jokingly.
"You've changed, Anthony!"
