Chapter: 177
"Ahem!"
Even Anthony was Losing his composure at this point.
He cast an uncomfortable look towards Maria and saw that she, too, was also looking awkward.
As it turned out, physicians could talk about condoms just like any other of their surgical tools.
“What? What's with that Look? Isn't keeping her healthy more important than having children?" Jessica shot an angry glance towards the pair and demanded.
Helplessly, Anthony said, "Have no fear. Together, Maria and I have a lot of life ahead of us. We aren't planning on having a family at this time."
“Love that." Jessica nodded with contentment.
Eventually, after staring at Maria for some time, she wasn't done speaking.
“Are you truly Julie's foster daughter?"
“Yes,” Maria replied quietly.
“Her having an adopted daughter was the last thing on my mind." Jessica spoke softly to herself in a murmuring tone.
Maria's curious gaze prompted her to speak candidly.
“Julie and I went to the same medical school. We shared a dorm room. In the end, I persisted in school until I earned my Ph.D., whereas your mother... Well, your adoptive mother... didn't even get her master's degree since she decided to get married instead."
At this mention, Jessica's expression darkened once more.
“Poor woman. When I tried to give her advice, she just ignored me. She did all of that only for a guy Like Bill..."
Maria came back home that night, which wasn't what the Jenkins had expected at all.
“You're back already? Didn*t you go see Anthony?" Bill couldn't help but ask in a confused tone.
"Yes, I did. And I came back after meeting him. Is there any problem?" Maria answered expressionlessly.
Bill frowned, but of course, he couldn't scold or blame her.
It was only nine o'clock in the evening, still far earlier from the curfew parents would usually set for their children.
