Chapter: 304
Maria snorted and continued, "First of all, Judy was in this room to practice singing. She's preparing for the songs of the second season of “Legend of Anne’. Her piano skills have nothing to do with this. Second, were you curious about Judy's piano skills? Would you Like to see her play?"
Sally and Vivian were lost in thought after they heard Maria's words. Why was Judy preparing herself for the songs of the second season of the show ‘Legend of Anne'? Could it be?
Was Judy going to audition for the lead singer part? Or did she already...
Before the two of them could process things, Maria instructed, “Judy. play Chopin's ‘Fantasy Impromptu’ ."
Vivian was stunned!
The piece was one of the most famous piano works of the four “Impromptus" of Chopin. It was infamous for being difficult to play and the music piece was superior artistically to Franz Liszt's work! How could Judy play such a grueling piano piece?
Vivian just asked Judy to play two pieces of Franz Liszt's work, and she couldn't even play those. Judy admitted it to her moments ago.
ALL of a sudden, Judy began to play.
The music was like a surging torrent and it soon filled the ears of everyone inside the piano room.
Judy performed like a professional and could finish the piece in one go. Vivian almost felt Like she was enjoying the music of a young pianist in a classical music hall!
“I'm finished." Instead of acting boastful, Judy spoke to Maria cautiously, like a student would to a mentor.
Judy held her breath as she waited for Maria to speak.
She looked Like she was bracing herself for her teacher's feedback.
However, Maria didn't make any comments.
Instead, she just said lightly, “Next piece. The Flight of the Bumblebee. You have 5@ seconds."
Flight of the Bumblebee was the work of Nikolai Andreivitch Rimsky-Korsakov, one of the most popular Russian composer who ever lived. His music was influenced greatly with rich nationalistic style, which was very different from Chopin, the "Piano Poet".
If one would describe the main feature of the Flight of the Bumblebee, he could only think of one word-fast!
Vivian remembered that at present, the best piano performance in the world of this legendary musical piece was at a stunning 4@ seconds.
It was a record set by a top international pianist.
So, she thought Maria was being crazy for requiring Judy to play the Flight of the Bumblebee in 5@ seconds. Who did she think Judy was? Did she actually think that a normal girl like her was more skillful than a world-renowned artist?
