Maria shook her head gently.

“There is no need to apologize. I promised I would give you my full cooperation. Were they sent by the Wilson family to spy on you?"

Anthony answered seriously, "Yes, indeed.

They are all sent by the Wilson family."

ALL of them were sent by the Wilson family? Jack pondered Anthony's words with a sigh.

It was true. Anthony was a Wilson, and those people were his bodyguards. Of course, one could say they were sent by the Wilson family.

"Is that enough?" Maria asked in a low voice. She wanted to know if they needed to fight back.

“If we act closer, we should be able to mislead those people," Anthony suggested.

Maria was rendered speechless She wanted to tell him that she didn't mean that. She wasn't the type to just hide in the corner. If she were to get in trouble, she would take the initiative to fight her way out.

However, that was when she began to wonder if Anthony had another plan in mind.

Since he knew the Wilson family better, she figured that perhaps it wasn't time to fight back yet.

“You want us to act closer?" she asked.

Anthony nodded. "Yes. There are a Lot of people who do that in public. They usually hold hands, hug, kiss, and so on."

Maria sat up straight and scooted away from Anthony, making sure to keep her distance from him. She eyed him from head to toe as if she was trying to figure out the real meaning of his words.

Did he really mean that? Or was it just a joke?

Anthony seemed very sincere as he looked into Maria's eyes, which showed that he had no ulterior motives.

Maria pressed her Lips into a thin Line and went silent.

That was the first time she suspected that Anthony was lying, but she had no evidence to back up her claims.

The unnerving silence lasted up until another person arrived.

“Anthony! Maria!" A feisty middle-aged woman suddenly exclaimed while she walked toward them. Jack didn't stop her, nor did he dare to.
