Maria snapped, pulling a long face. She was starting to feel a little restless.

Like a cat that had its tail trodden on, Maria had the impulse to scratch someone.

And there was no better person to scratch than the liar in front of her.

“I may not be able to smooth out the situation in the Wilson family within a year," Anthony explained calmly. Maria narrowed her eyes at him in suspicion.

Judging by the information she had gotten through Heaven's database, she had a rough idea of what kind of trouble Anthony was going through in the Wilson family.

For example, a few unruly relatives led by Raymond were trying to snatch power away from Anthony.

However, would it really take Anthony more than a year to deal with those incapable people?

Or did he have some other problems that Maria didn't know about?

While Maria was pondering over the situation, a loud burp came from behind her.

It was from Judy.

Maria turned around and glared at her friend. Frightened, Judy covered her mouth immediately.

"How Long do you want to extend it by?" Maria asked coldly.

“I don't know." Anthony smiled and, before Maria could lose her temper, added, "If you are dissatisfied with our arrangement any time during the extended term of our engagement, Miss Jenkins, you have every right to end our relationship.”

Since he was throwing the ball to her court, Maria found that she had no reason to complain.

How could she refuse him?

Just then, a thought popped into Maria's mind. Had Anthony possibly prepared this speech in advance?

“Besides, my aunt will need more than a year to treat your narcolepsy," Anthony added just then with an innocent smile, as if reading her mind.

“I will think about it." Maria pressed her Lips into a thin Line.

In order to cure her narcolepsy, she might actually be willing to compromise.

Just then, her thoughts were interrupted by another burp. Unsurprisingly, it was from Judy again.
