Chapter: 353
The contract that Bill had prepared for Maria was now in the trash can in the living room of Anthony's villa.
Since Julie hadn't read the content of the contract, she had no way to verify if Bill was telling the truth.
Seeing that Julie wasn't fully convinced, Bill continued, "Patricia and I studied the contract carefully. It says that Maria will have important supporting roles in some TV series and movies. Julie, you know that Maria is not a professional actress. Of course, we can't just let her become a heroine as soon as she starts her career, right?"
Bill didn‘t even mention that the contract stated that Maria would only have two roles respectively from one movie and one web series in a span of three years.
It meant that if she agreed to this, she would be almost unemployed for half the duration of the contract.
However, Julie was not a professional in this business, so she didn't seem to find anything wrong with what Bill was saying.
“As a newcomer, it is indeed a rare opportunity to have a role in a movie. It‘s only reasonable for her to play a supporting role... By the way, how about Maria's salary? Is it fair?"
Before Bill could answer, Vivian butted in again, "Mom, don't you watch the news? Don't you know how much money actors and actresses earn nowadays? Even if her career is just starting, you don't need to worry about her earnings!"
Hearing this, Julie fell silent. She thought about it and believed that Vivian's words made sense.
The entertainment industry had become very profitable. Once Maria made her debut, even if she was a newbie, she could start living a luxurious life.
"Mom, Maria hasn't even been with us for a long time. We arranged her marriage, and now, we're even helping her get a career in showbiz. She should be grateful to us!"
Vivian changed the subject to pin the blame on Maria.
"But Look at what she has done. This is how she repays us? If she is not satisfied with my father and Aunt Patricia's arrangement, why should she vent her anger on me? I'm playing an important supporting role in the Legend of Anne. Why would I only get twenty thousand dollars for the whole show? Mom! This is so unfair. You have to help me!" Acting like she was bullied to the extreme, Vivian threw herself in
Julie's arms.
Then, she burst into tears to get more sympathy.
Julie was left looking at Vivian who suddenly threw herself into her arms. She was at a loss for words.
Julie knew nothing about consoling a person.
Back then, when Bill suddenly proposed to adopt Vivian, Julie was partly against it.
After all, she had just lost her own baby. She couldn't bear the thought of bringing up another child.
Not willing to take up a mother's role for this new child, she even hired a wet nurse to feed Vivian.
