Chapter: 354
And now that very child, Vivian, was hugging her and acting Like a spoiled one. Julie's initial thought was to push her away but she knew she couldn't do that.
“Hey, Vivian... Stop crying, child. Just tell me what you want. I promise to give you anything you want."
Hearing this, Vivian stopped crying and looked up at Julie with shimmering eyes.
“Mom, I want to act in a movie. Are you willing to invest in me?"
“Invest in you?"
Julie was familiar with the current movie production cost. She knew it wouldn't be a small-scale investment.
However, it was too Late. She had already promised Vivian she would get her what she wanted. In all her life, she had never broken a promise and she wasn't going to do that now to her child.
"Tell... Okay." It was with some difficulty but she finally acquiesced.
“Really! Are you really going to do that?"
Vivian's whole face lit up. One couldn't find an ounce of grievance on her face. It was as if she hadn't cried her eyes out one minute ago.
"Yes." Julie nodded but looked quite helpless. "When I come across a good script, I will try my best to invest in you as the heroine.”
It was obvious that it was Anthony who had reduced Vivian's payment of the show Legend of Anne, but she was depending on Julie to make up for it.
With a heavy sigh, Julie wondered who she could ask for help. She was in a pickle.
Could she complain to her husband? She glanced at Bill, and immediately knew the answer to that question.
No, she could expect nothing from him.
And then she wondered if her best friend would help her.
Before she could talk to Patricia, Patricia had joined the conversation.
“Julie, what a coincidence! After my new company is set up, I'm going to shoot a period movie. Have you heard of the popular online novel Song of Phoenix? I've bought the copyright of it. If I get someone to invest in it, I can shoot the movie immediately!"
There was an embarrassed flush on Julie's face. "Well, that's indeed a wonderful coincidence," Julie said with a forced smile.
It would be very inappropriate to refuse her friend when she had proposed something with such excitement.
